Chiang Mai Rajabhat University is located in northern Thailand. It was founded in 1924 and began by specialising in agricultural teacher training. In 2004, it gained its current name after the king granted the use of his Royal Crest as the university’s emblem. The four campuses that make up the university are Wiang Bua in the centre of Chiang Mai; Mae Sa; Mae Rim; and Mae Hong Son Campus. Across the university, there are five main faculties of study, including education, humanities and social science, science and technology, management Science and agricultural technology. Chiang Mai city is also famous for its Thai festivals, including the Loi Krathong which celebrates the full moon in November. Locals will float banana leaf containers decorated with flowers and candles down the city’s waterways and release sky lanterns.

Call for Proposals: Two Postdoctoral Positions in Quantum Technology The Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture has announced additional support for national doctoral education pilot in quantum technology (QDOC) aimed at postdoc recruitments. The focus is on supporting the training and supervision of the 90 doctoral students who are currently enrolled under QDOC across Finland. QDOC team invites applications for two postdoctoral positions that combines research with the development and delivery of a course or training module aimed at QDOC students nationally. Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree and associated post-doctoral training in Medical Imaging Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, or Biomedical Engineering. They should demonstrate (i) evidence of international recognition and scholarship; (ii) the ability to work across disciplines towards new research initiatives; (iii) a strong track record of high-quality research as indicated by publications (including multiple publications in high-impact journals of impact factor >10) and external grants; and (iv) a strong commitment to engage students at undergraduate and postgraduate level. The appointee will provide leadership in imaging research with particular focus on pre-clinical animal imaging research, and assist with managing pre-clinical animal imaging infrastructures within the Department. He/She is expected to participate in applications for external competitive research grants for the Department, and will contribute to teach undergraduate and postgraduate programs, supervise student projects and theses, and take up administrative duties as required. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 15% of basic salary.
