Opportunity to join the Northern Clinical School as Research Assistant Full time, fixed term opportunity for 12 months Base salary $80,037 + 17% superannuation About the opportunity Located at the Kolling Institute the Northern Clinical school is seeking to appoint a Research Assistant who is responsible for facilitating the research process by assisting in the coordination and execution of routine research activities. They support the preliminary stages of grant applications, maintain research data integrity, and ensure efficient communication with survey participants. They also contribute to maintaining organised research records, readying data for presentations and reports. Your key responsibilities will be to: support the coordination and delivery of clinical trial activities, including participant screening, visit scheduling, conduct of study visits alongside clinicians, multisite coordination, and meeting administration, including minute-taking and follow-up actions. assist with the preparation, submission, and ongoing management of ethics and governance documentation. support basic science research activities, including routine laboratory tasks, sample processing, experimental procedures, and maintenance of accurate laboratory records under supervision. support the preparation of research reports, presentations, manuscripts, and other project-related documentation. maintain compliance with research protocols, regulatory requirements, and study procedures, including the preparation and maintenance of study documentation and logs. support data collection, entry, and secure record management to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality. assist researchers with preliminary grant application activities, including collating supporting data and documentation. undertake additional research, coordination, and administrative duties appropriate to the classification level as required. Duties and Responsibilities To conduct research on the observational and numerical modeling of ionospheric irregularities. The project focuses on investigating the Equatorial Spread F phenomena near the Greater Bay Area using integrated regional and global models together with observational data. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Prof. Binzheng Zhang and Prof. Zhonghua Yao, as well as other DEPS researchers, to carry out an integrated analysis of numerical simulations and data-model comparisons.
