Job Purpose The Professional Officers Division (POD) houses a centralized pool of academic staff under the Professional Officers scheme. Professional Officers come with specialised and deep technical skills acquired through extensive industry experience. They form the talent pool which brings a much-needed industry perspective to student learning. They facilitate applied learning and applied research in SIT, complementing the academic expertise of the faculty to bring industry practices and applications into the curriculum. Professional Officers leverage on their industry experiences to create authentic learning environments, where discovery and innovation take place. They act as coaches and mentors to students during practical learning activities such as laboratory sessions, Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Professional Officers could also lead or work with faculty on industry innovation projects to provide solutions to the industry. In addition to their role in applied learning and applied research, Professional Officers manage the centralised laboratory facilities and resources in SIT. With Technical Officers, laboratory safety professionals, and administrators in POD, they jointly develop central policies and processes for the safe and seamless operation of laboratories in SIT. Key Responsibilities Design and teach labs & practice modules. Mentor students in Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Lead or co-lead innovation projects with industry. Manage labs and equipment to support academic programmes and applied research. Ensure safety in labs. Job Requirements A good degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field. Masters, PhD and/or relevant professional certifications would be advantageous. Track record in project leadership and impactful industry experience in Chemical Process Technology. Deep technical specialist with 10 or more years of working experience in unit operations (e.g. Heat Exchanger, Distillation Column, Reactors, Cooling Tower etc). Practical knowledge of Quality Management Systems and Engineering standards including but not limited to ISO9001, OSHA and BSI etc. Practiced in Chemical Process Design software (for e.g. HYSYS) Proficiency in analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC-MS, LC-MS, ICP-OES, ICP-MS, and related methods, with a focus on biopharmaceutical analysis would be an advantage. Strong supervisory skills and enjoy working closely with students in an educational environment. Demonstrate proficiency to keep abreast of development in the field and pursue professional certification programs. Possess industrial certifications in relevant areas will be an added advantage.

This position will drive innovation through academic expertise in liver studies and translational research. The appointee will foster interdisciplinary collaborations, deliver research-led education, and mentor early-career researchers, ensuring King’s College London remains at the forefront of addressing contemporary healthcare challenges. The role will involve conducting and leading high-impact research aligned to the research themes of the Roger Williams Institute of Liver Studies (RW-ILS), while developing and maintaining an externally funded research programme. Core outputs will include: publishing high-quality research outputs in peer-reviewed journals, enhancing the Faculty’s research profile and supporting its Research Excellence Framework (REF) submission; fostering interdisciplinary collaborations within the Faculty and with external research groups, including national and international partners; providing research-led teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including the MBBS, MSc, and PGCert courses, ensuring alignment with the Faculty’s education strategy; supervising and mentoring PhD students and early-career researchers, promoting a culture of innovation, excellence, and academic development; contributing to the design and delivery of teaching modules; actively engaging in academic administration and committee work as required, contributing to the Faculty’s strategic and operational goals. Description The newly established NYUAD Wireless Research Center at New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a Post-Doctoral Associate (PDA) to engage in cutting-edge research on the physical layer design of next-generation wireless communication systems, with a primary focus on 6G technologies. The research will particularly emphasize spectrum candidates beyond the current 5G NR range, including FR3 (7–24 GHz) and the THz band (100 GHz and above). The PDA will be jointly supervised by Qurrat-Ul-Ain Nadeem, Marwa Chafii and Murat Uysal. Principal Responsibilities The PDA will conduct research on the design and development of next-generation wireless communication systems. Specific topics include, but are not limited to, waveform design for the THz spectrum under hardware constraints, beamforming techniques for FR3 and THz bands, reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS), and integrated sensing and communications (ISAC). The research methodology will involve the development of mathematical models for signal transmission and reception, derivation of fundamental performance limits, algorithmic-level system design, and performance evaluation through computer simulations and/or experimental validation. The PDA is expected to actively disseminate results through publications in high-impact journals and presentations at leading international conferences. The PDA is expected to contribute to the intellectual property development through patent filings, as well as participating in standardization efforts relevant to wireless technologies, in coordination with academic and industrial collaborators. Qualifications Applicants must hold a PhD degree in electrical/electronics engineering, telecommunications or related field. Other requirements include:  Strong background in communication theory, signal processing, and wireless communications  Proven track record of publications in relevant IEEE journals and conferences  Extensive experience in physical layer algorithm design and performance analysis In addition to the above qualifications, it is highly desirable that the candidate has prior research experience in one or more of the following research topics:  Waveform design for different RF bands (FR3, MMW, sub-THz/THz)  Analog/digital/hybrid beamforming Integrated sensing and communication  Reconfigurable intelligent surfaces  Hardware-constrained signal processing for wireless communications The candidates will be considered until the position is filled.
