Chaiyaphum Rajabhat University is a public university located in Mueang district, Chaiyaphum Province, Thailand. It was established in 1994 and is part of the national Rajabhat University system.

It belongs to a network of 38 Rajabhat Universities across Thailand, which originally developed from teacher training colleges. In 1995, these institutions were upgraded to Rajabhat Institutes, broadening their academic scope to include postgraduate education. 

In 2005, they were restructured as universities, allowing them to offer degrees up to doctoral level and operate with greater autonomy. 

Chaiyaphum Rajabhat University offers programmes across a range of academic disciplines and operates as a coeducational institution. Admission is typically based on entrance examinations, in line with the wider Rajabhat system, which is generally considered more accessible than some more selective public universities in Thailand.

The main campus is located in the Mueang district, Chaiyaphum 36000, Thailand. It provides standard facilities including a library, sports areas and student support services.

We educate bachelor’s students in chemical engineering, master’s students in chemistry and materials science, and doctoral students in technology. Our research themes include, among other things, the utilization of renewable energy and the development of various functional materials and molecules. Our teaching staff includes 15 professors and 11 lecturers, and in total more than 100 people work in our department. We are now seeking a fixed-term, three-year Academic Coordinator to support the advancement of the strategic objectives of the Department of Chemistry and Materials Science. The position focuses particularly on coordinating and supporting the preparation of large, nationally significant research projects, both internally and in collaboration with our partners. The emphasis of your work may shift according to the strategic needs of the department. Your key responsibilities include, among others: Coordinating and supporting the preparation of major, strategic funding applications together with the professors active in the area. The role includes internal coordination within Aalto, building networks with stakeholders, and providing practical support for preparing project proposals for funding instruments of, e.g., Business Finland and the Research Council of Finland. Coordinating steering and working groups for large projects and providing other administrative support as required by the department and the school. Supporting the department’s professors by, for example, advancing strategic networking with key stakeholders and existing ecosystems. General coordination supporting the research activities of the Department of Chemistry and Materials Science and supporting the department’s leadership. Collaborating with Aalto’s and our school’s service staff in the preparation, implementation, and reporting of strategic projects, as well as enhancing their visibility. Your skills You will succeed in this role if you have experience in preparing and coordinating large project entities, collaborating with academic and industrial partners, or other relevant tasks in, for example, a university or another expert organization. You will work in an international community with researchers and various stakeholders, both face-to-face and via digital channels, so excellent collaboration, negotiation, and interaction skills will equip you well for success. Your working style is systematic, self-directed, and thorough. You tackle even challenging tasks with determination and take responsibility for driving your areas forward and for completing your tasks on time. Requirements: A doctoral degree, primarily in chemistry or materials science, or alternatively in another field of natural sciences or engineering. Excellent oral and written English skills. Finnish language skills are considered an asset. Good collaboration, negotiation, and communication skills. Previous experience with the application practices of both Finnish and European Union research funding schemes, coordinating research collaboration especially with industrial partners, and project administration will be considered an advantage. It combines natural sciences and engineering in a unique way. We are looking for several Postdoctoral Researchers in AI-driven atomistic modeling and AI-accelerated cheminformatics to join the Otaniemi Center for Atomic-scale Materials Modeling (OCAMM), hosted by the Department of Chemistry and Materials Science (CMAT). The positions to be filled are part of a new project funded by Business Finland, “Materials AI for accelerated industrial R&D”, carried out in collaboration with leading companies in the chemistry and materials fields, as well as the Finnish national supercomputing center, CSC. In-house collaborations with experimentalists are also included in the project. The project is led by Prof. Miguel Caro (PI), Prof. Antti Karttunen, and Prof. Kari Laasonen, who will supervise the postdoc positions advertised here. We are seeking candidates with expertise in one or more of these areas: Machine-learning interatomic potentials; High-throughput automated workflows for atomistic simulations; Atomistic modeling of the structure of materials; Simulation of molecular diffusion and molecular interactions with surfaces and/or nanoporous media; Atomistic simulation of chemical reactions and/or thin-film growth; Data-driven cheminformatics for molecular modeling and/or design; Molecular dynamics simulations. Your background and expertise We are looking for candidates with a doctoral degree in computational chemistry, physics or materials science (including engineering doctoral degrees in these areas). Candidates with a doctoral degree in computational biology, applied mathematics, or applied computer science with applications in the areas of interest of the project (as listed above) will also be considered. Open positions have different specific requirements, but we are generally interested in candidates with following merits: Track record of scientific publications; Prior experience with high-performance computing (HPC) systems; Ability to interact with data and software programmatically (for example, familiarity with Python scripting) Strong command of written and spoken English, including the ability to effectively communicate and discuss ideas. You have previous practical experience in one or more of the following more specific topics: Machine learning interatomic potentials (GAP, NNP, MTP, ACE, MACE, etc.); Density functional theory studies of nanoparticles, surfaces, or bulk materials; Chemical reaction modeling and/or enhanced sampling (NEB, metadynamics, microkinetic modeling, etc.); Molecular dynamics simulations (LAMMPS, Gromacs, etc.); ML-based techniques applied to cheminformatics (e.g., high-throughput molecular data processing with SMILES). Expertise in the following areas is considered beneficial: scripting (Python, bash, etc.), high-performance programming (Fortran/C/C++, CUDA, etc.), ML libraries (sklearn, Pytorch, etc.). What we offer OCAMM is a new initiative created within a well-established research environment specializing in computational chemistry and materials science. Adding to our strong expertise in traditional atomistic modeling, we have been early adopters of atomistic machine learning and other data-driven techniques that have recently emerged in the field. The OCAMM community of more than 10 researchers working on this project will benefit from strong internal interaction as well as networking with the participating companies and other companies embedded with their research ecosystems. The OCAMM community will be integrated within the existing atomic-scale modeling community at the CMAT Department (four research groups and about 40 researchers overall). OCAMM researchers will have access to the world-class supercomputing facilities offered by CSC, the Finnish supercomputing center. This includes the EuroHPC LUMI supercomputer and upcoming upgrades (LUMI-AI). Aalto campus is in Espoo, Finland, in the capital Helsinki region. He received his PhD from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich and a Diploma in Management from the University of Mannheim.In his research, Thorsten Grohsjean explores how organizations shape their employees and how these imprints drive individuals’ decisions, in turn affecting organizational performance. He studies this indirect linkage across two streams. The first examines how organizational affiliations shape interpersonal relationships, affecting individuals’ dyadic interactions within and across organizations. The second focuses on resource allocation among competing alternatives. Specifically, he studies how organizational features, such as the structure of the decision-making process and the composition of the decision panel, shape the selection of strategic alternatives. Most of his research uses large-scale quantitative data analysis alongside semi-structured interviews. He uses unique data that he collects by scraping multiple data sources, most notably on the video game development industry and various sports (e.g., ice hockey, basketball, and soccer), or by collaborating with organizations. Recently, he has also relied on laboratory experiments. What you will be doing: They work on their dissertation and its completion. In addition to their research, candidates assist with and participate in administrative tasks and teaching activities at all levels (independent teaching within the scope of the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement), including evaluation measures and quality assurance.
