CECOS University of IT and Emerging Sciences is a co-educational, private university in the city of Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. There are seven departments, including civil engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, architecture, management science, computer science and biotechnology. Established in 1986 as the CECOS Data Institute, it started with just five computers and a handful of students. In 2001, the institution was chartered as a university and has since expanded to over 3,000 students enrolled and over 250 employees, while more than 22,000 students have benefitted from CECOS educational institutions. In 1998, CECOS opened the CECOS London College of Information Technology and Management, to conduct split degree programmes, facilitate credit transfer of their students to American and European Universities and to market the software developed at the university. The university has signed memorandums of understanding with a dozen international universities, such as the Sichuan University of Science and Technology in China, Kangwan National University in South Korea and the Discrete Event System Laboratory at the New Jersey Institute of Technology in the USA. The university is spread across four campuses and is in the process of establishing the CECOS University Islamabad Campus. The CECOS Industrial Liaison Centre (CILC) aims to strengthen long term relationships between industries and firms with academics. It is comprised of engineering workshops and laboratories in electrical, electronics, mechanical and micro-processing. In 2015, the university unveiled Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s first power plant that converts waste into energy. CECOS provides merit scholarships and financial assistance to students in need. The colours of the university are maroon and navy blue.

As a University of Applied Learning, SIT works closely with industry in our research pursuits. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT. The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver on an industry funded research project where you will be part of the research team to develop advanced Nuclear Quadrupole Resonance (NQR) scanning technologies. Job Responsibilities Participate in research project with Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met. Undertake these responsibilities in the project: i. Conduct comprehensive literature review on NQR technology, including design approaches, scanning methods, signal processing techniques, and comparison with alternative detection technologies. ii. Support design and development of NQR prototype, including system architecture, component selection, and experimental setup. iii. Conduct lab and site tests to evaluate the performance of NQR prototype. iv. Generate design documents and test documents at every stage of development until the final prototype. Coordinate procurement and liaison with vendors/suppliers. Carry out Risk Assessment, and ensure compliance with Work, Safety and Health Regulations.  Work independently, as well as within a team, to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment. Job Requirements Has a bachelor’s degree in Electronics; Specialization in RF/Microwave or Digital Signal Processing (DSP) is preferred. Has solid knowledge of electronics, including circuit design, PCB layout, and hardware troubleshooting. Has relevant competence in the areas of Radio Frequency design and measurement; Familiarity with high-power amplifier systems is a plus. Has relevant experience in the areas of Digital Signal Processing (DSP) design and implementation is a plus. Experience in electromagnetic simulation using CST Studio Suite and circuit simulation with PSpice, LTspice, or equivalent is an advantage. Experience with developing software for instrument control and data acquisition using LabVIEW is helpful. Key Competencies Strong experimental skills and theoretical knowledge in electronic circuits, and RF or DSP design, with the ability to apply hands-on prototyping and system development. Able to build and maintain strong working relationships with people within and external to the university. POST TITLE Senior Lecturers & Lecturers in Data Science POST DETAILS Full-time, Fixed-term THE POST Stirling College, Chengdu University is looking for Senior Lecturers and Lecturers in Data Science to deliver modules on its BSc (Hons) Data Science programme, with the possibility of contributing to postgraduate teaching within the MSc Big Data programme where appropriate. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in contextualising University of Stirling modules for delivery in China, selecting and developing appropriate learning materials and activities that reflect the contemporary data science environment in China and incorporating these into the programme, and in some instances developing material for completely new modules. The BSc (Hons) Data Science award covers a range of areas including: Databases and data warehousing Scripting and programming Code performance analysis User interface design Statistics Machine learning, natural language processing and computer vision Information management Computer security Computer networks Research methods in computing science Artificial Intelligence In addition to undergraduate teaching, staff may also have the opportunity to contribute to the delivery of postgraduate modules on the MSc Big Data programme. Postgraduate teaching may include advanced topics such as large-scale data systems, advanced analytics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and applied data science research methods. THE JOINT INSTITUTE We are a Transnational Education (TNE) partnership between the University of Stirling and Chengdu University founded in 2021, following approval by the Chinese Ministry of Education. DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES Deliver up to twenty hours teaching per week and be available in the staff office for at least six hours per week for student consultation. Contribute to module delivery and dissertation supervision on the MSc Big Data programme where appropriate. Prepare and deliver engaging, student-centred classes, including compiling relevant teaching materials. Develop, invigilate, mark, and second-mark assessments within agreed deadlines. Supervise undergraduate final-year projects and, where required, supervise postgraduate dissertations within the MSc Big Data programme. Participate in CPD activities, including completing a staff development plan, attending training, and engaging in peer observations. Take part in regular staff appraisal meetings and contribute to programme marketing when requested. Attend team meetings and undertake administrative responsibilities as outlined in the staff handbook. Ensure all duties are performed to the highest standard and within agreed timeline. *Please note that appointed staff need to be adaptable and actively participate in college activities, recognising the constantly evolving nature of international higher education. ESSENTIAL CRITERIA The successful candidate will normally demonstrate the following characteristics: For Senior Lecturer Positions – Candidates should have a PhD degree in a relevant subject area. For Lecturer Positions – at least a Master’s degree in a relevant subject area. We prefer recent PhD graduate or those who are pursuing a PhD. At least 2 years of Higher Education teaching experience in a relevant field. Track record of planning and delivering engaging, student-centred sessions in English. Experience of formulating assessment tasks in line with learning outcomes. Ability to contextualise learning for a Chinese context. Non-native English-speaking candidates should be able to evidence possession of IELTS 7.5 or equivalent. DESIRABLE CRITERIA Experience of postgraduate teaching or supervising in data science, artificial intelligence, or big data-related areas is desirable. Experience in programme development, peer support and mentoring. Relevant industry experience. Experience of teaching in a UK/International Higher Education Institution. Schemes of Service: Research Division: Food, Chemical and Biotechnology Employment Type: Fixed Term Research Fellow / Engineer (Insect Protein Chemistry & Functional Beverage Development) As a University of Applied Learning, the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) works closely with industry partners to deliver translational, impact-driven research. This role supports an awarded applied research project on cricket protein (CP)-based functional beverages, focusing on protein chemistry, emulsion engineering, scalable food processing, and consumer acceptance. The appointee will contribute to SIT's sustainable food innovation agenda, working within a multidisciplinary team with access to established research platforms and pilot-scale facilities. Key Responsibilities Characterise insect protein and their hydrolysates for compositional and techno-functional properties under different processing conditions (enzymatic hydrolysis, heating, drying, homogenization) Investigate the impact of food processing on protein-polysaccharide interactions under different food processing conditions. Profile phenolic compound and evaluate the bio-functional properties such as antioxidant activity Identify optimal processing conditions that minimise bioactive losses for functional beverage applications. Design and formulate insect protein-based oil-in-water emulsions for the encapsulation and delivery of bioactives. Develop and optimise functional beverage prototypes that are suitable for industry-scale beverage manufacturing and evaluate their emulsion stability and estimated shelf-life. Conduct in vitro bioaccessibility and bioavailability studies for encapsulated nutrients using existing SIT analytical facilities. Support the design and execution of consumer surveys assessing Singapore consumers' acceptance of foods and beverages. Perform principal component analysis (PCA) and multivariate statistics to identify relationships between demographic factors and product acceptance and integrate findings as feedback for beverage formulation. Prepare scientific manuscripts, technical reports, and progress updates for funding agencies, journals, and stakeholders. Present findings at project meetings, industry engagements, and academic conferences. Supervise and mentor junior researchers, research assistants, and students attached to the project. The candidate is to communicate with all relevant internal and external stakeholders as required to meet the project deliverables. Any other adhoc duties assigned by supervisor. Job Requirements PhD in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Chemistry, Chemistry, Nutrition, or a closely related discipline. Strong master's or bachelor's degree holders with substantial relevant research experience may be considered for the Engineer grade. Solid grounding in protein chemistry, protein hydrolysis, and structure–function relationships in food systems. Hands-on experience in emulsion formulation and stability characterisation, including droplet size analysis and shelf-life assessment. Familiarity with food processing technologies such as HTST, UHT pasteurisation, drying, heating, and high-pressure or multi-stage homogenisation in beverage or liquid food systems. Working knowledge of biochemical and antioxidant assay methods, HPLC, MS, and their application in food ingredient analysis. Experience with in vitro digestion models and bioaccessibility or bioavailability testing is a strong advantage. Ability to perform quantitative data analysis and multivariate statistics (e.g., PCA); proficiency in Origin, R, or equivalent software for statistical analysis. Strong scientific writing skills with the ability to produce publication-quality manuscripts and clear technical reports. About RoboPrecinct@PDD SmartPrecinct@PDD initiative aims to develop a precinct-scale robotics and embodied AI ecosystem at Punggol Digital District (PDD). The programme establishes shared digital infrastructure, regulatory frameworks (including cybersecurity and safety), embodied AI capabilities, industry collaborations, and real-world test-bedding environments to enable safe and scaled deployment of robots in PDD. The Business Development Manager will drive industry engagement and partnership development to attract companies to participate in robotics test-bedding and applied research collaborations. Key Responsibilities Industry engagement and partnership development Identify and engage robotics companies, technology providers, startups, and research partners to participate in the SmartPrecinct@PDD programme. Work closely with technical teams to identify industry use cases aligned with the SmartPrecinct infrastructure and capabilities. Support the development of joint projects between SIT and industry partners; prepare collaboration contracts/agreements and support the onboarding process for companies joining the SmartPrecinct ecosystem. Support reporting and documentation of industry partnerships and collaboration outcomes. Marketing and outreach Develop branding and marketing initiatives to promote SmartPrecinct and create industry outreach opportunities. Organise industry engagement activities such as workshops, industry forums, and networking events. Requirements Minimum Bachelor’s degree in engineering, robotics, AI, cybersecurity, business, or other related fields. Ideally 5+ years of relevant experience in business development, innovation partnerships, or technology ecosystem development. Strong networking and relationship-building capabilities. Experience working with government programmes or public-sector innovation initiatives is advantageous. Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Note: The incumbent will be appointed as Research Engineer/Research Fellow if successful.
