Students can choose to study their entire programme in China or complete part of it in China and finish at BCU. Our teaching commitment at BIFCA is expanding, and we are seeking a lecturer to contribute to this ongoing development. The position offers a unique opportunity to live and work in a popular part of China on a two-year fixed-term contract, with the option to renew after the two-year period is complete.  PLEASE NOTE: All teaching will be in English. You will have teaching experience in higher education or have presented regularly to technical audiences in an industry setting, including preparing teaching material and planning technical course activities. Job Purpose The Professional Officers Division (POD) houses a centralized pool of academic staff under the Professional Officers scheme. Professional Officers come with specialised and deep technical skills acquired through extensive industry experience. They form the talent pool which brings a much-needed industry perspective to student learning. They facilitate applied learning and applied research in SIT, complementing the academic expertise of the faculty to bring industry practices and applications into the curriculum. Professional Officers leverage on their industry experiences to create authentic learning environments, where discovery and innovation take place. About the position The NTNU University Museum is excited to invite applications from highly qualified candidates for a fully-funded PhD project focusing on human osteoarchaeology. This is a 3-year temporary position, with the possibility of extending up to four years including career-promoting work, for an enthusiastic, motivated individual with experience in human osteoarchaeology, stable isotope analysis or other biomolecular methods. As a PhD candidate with us, you will earn a doctorate and gain valuable experience working ethically with bioarchaeological materials in a laboratory setting, developing research skills for a future career in or outside academia.  Your immediate leader will be the Head of Department. About the project The topic of the PhD will involve studying infant feeding and maternal and infant health in the Norwegian past, but the specific aims of the project will be developed in collaboration with the candidate. This position will benefit from access to extensive human osteology collections curated by the NTNU University Museum, as well as state-of-the-art laboratories for stable isotope analysis and radiocarbon dating.  Duties of the position For a position as a PhD candidate, the goal is a completed doctoral education up to an obtained doctoral degree within the employment period. Publication of the project results in peer-reviewed journals is expected. Salary and conditions In the position of PhD Candidate, code 1017, your gross salary will normally be NOK 550 800,-per annum depending on qualifications and seniority.
