The contract is for 3 years and renewable for another 3 years (6 years in total). Your workplace: As a postdoctoral researcher, you will become part of Prof. Katharina Kraus' research team. The team conducts research in the history of philosophy, roughly from the seventeenth to the twentieth century. The team's research currently focuses on Immanuel Kant's transcendental philosophy and its reception in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, women philosophers in the German tradition, and philosophy of life and phenomenology. Systematic research interests include topics in philosophy of mind, epistemology, and philosophy of science, as well as ethics and philosophy of action. This involves the following: You produce excellent research in philosophy. You take part in and help organizing research activities such as reading groups, workshops, visiting talks. You publish in peer-reviewed journals and give research presentations. You apply for third-party funding for your research. You prepare and complete a habilitation (if this is beneficial to your career) You contribute to teaching within the BA and MA philosophy programs by independently teaching courses to the extent to which you are required according to the collective bargaining agreement (4 SWS). You supervise students in your areas of competence. You participate in evaluation measures and in quality assurance. You take on administrative and organizational tasks. Your profile: Required: Completed doctoral studies in history of philosophy (the doctoral thesis must be submitted by the application deadline) Track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals and/or with presses (appropriate for the career stage) Research interests in at least one of the following fields: history of modern philosophy, including philosophy of the Enlightenment (seventeenth and eighteenth centuries), philosophical traditions of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, women philosophers and other marginalized figures in the history of philosophy Teaching experience Excellent knowledge of English (C1) Knowledge of German or willingness to acquire proficiency within 2 years Organizational skills and willingness to organize events, including reading groups, talks, workshops Ability to work in a team Desirable: Teaching competence in the history of philosophy is highly desirable Note that many courses at the University of Vienna are taught in English, so knowledge of German is not strictly required. Description We are inviting applications for a Post-Doctoral Associate in the Division of Social Science at NYU Abu Dhabi from individuals who have or will soon receive a PhD in demography, epidemiology, public health, or a related discipline in the social sciences. The appointment will begin September 1, 2026, subject to final budget approval and is available for up to three years. The post-doctoral associate will spend half their time on independent research, and half their time on collaborative research with Professor Stéphane Helleringer. The collaborative research will be on population health and its determinants in low-and-middle-income countries, with an emphasis on measurement issues and the impact of crises such as epidemics and disasters. The job entails conducting high-quality research on population health and its determinants in low-and-middle-income countries. This includes conceptualizing research questions, designing empirical studies, collecting or acquiring new data sets, and analyzing these data using advanced statistical models and visualization techniques. The job also emphasizes the dissemination of knowledge about population health, particularly through the preparation of peer-reviewed manuscripts, software packages and/or participation in international conferences. Candidates must hold a PhD in demography, epidemiology, public health or related discipline in the social sciences. The ideal candidate is preferred to have prior experience with data collection and collaboration in low-and-middle-income countries and good knowledge of R or other software for data management, analysis and visualization. The position does not require teaching, but it may be possible to get teaching experience for compensation. You would join a group of over 20 post-doctoral fellows and 70 faculty in the Division of Social Science. You are also expected to teach courses primarily in the field of power transmission systems, with a typical teaching load of two courses per year. The department is growing and is looking to enhance its international competitiveness in this emerging area. We have active clinical and research programmes in understanding the immunobiology of haematological disease. The postholder will help develop their independent programme of research in molecular immunology to make a substantive contribution to KCL's portfolio of research in cell and gene therapeutics, focusing on haemato-oncology, and novel diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for haematology. This post will complement strengths at King’s Haematology including bone marrow failure, haematopoiesis, myeloid malignancies, lymphoma, hemoglobinopathies and gene therapy. The postholder will also develop collaborative research across the School of Cancer & Pharmaceutical Sciences (SCPS) and the Faculty of Life Sciences and Medicine (FoLSM). The postholder will also contribute to research training and the development and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate education programmes within the SCPS and FoLSM. This is a full-time post (35 hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract. About You To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience: Essential criteria PhD in immunology, or haemato-oncology or a related subject. Track record of developing new knowledge and innovative research in immune haemato-oncology as evidenced, for example, by publications in high impact scientific journals and by invited presentations of research at international conferences. A track record of attracting competitive research funding in the relevant research area. Experience with cytometry platforms and multi-omics approaches. Ability to teach relevant subjects at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Highly effective oral and written communication skills, to convey conceptual and complex ideas and information, alongside good organisational and administrative skills. Ability to lead and function within a team and to plan and prioritise workload. Supervision of undergraduate projects and postgraduate research students. Desirable criteria  Proactive in creating and developing interactions and collaborations with colleagues. Description NYUAD Experimental High Energy Physics group is searching for a post-doctoral associate to join the planned group's efforts to be involved in the ATLAS experiment as part of the UAE-ATLAS cluster, composed of three UAE institutions. Candidates must demonstrate experience in experimental high energy physics. The group will be contributing to the Physics Modeling (MC software, MC validation and Pileup modeling), the MET High-Level Trigger validation, optimization and performance studies, and to the heterogeneous computing where the focus will be to work on to the current efforts on accelerator developments towards the HL-LHC. Expertise in trigger development, performance and optimization and/or the ATLAS computing model is preferred. The selected candidate will work in the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider. The appointment will be for two years, with the possibility for renewal, subject to mutual agreement. The successful candidate is expected to take a leading role in the development of the group tasks and help in supervising PhD students.
