Bukhara State University is an institution of higher learning located in Bukhara, Uzbekistan. The university primarily trains scientific and pedagogical personnel in Uzbekistan.

The university was founded on the basis of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on March 15, 1992. It traces back its origin to the Bukhara Pedagogical Institute founded in 1930.

The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses across a wide range of disciplines including physics, economics, chemistry, agriculture, art graphics, folk art, history, foreign languages, pedagogy, physical culture, and Uzbek philology through its nine different faculties and 50 specialised departments.

The university campus has a regional language centre, specialised academic lyceum, gymnasium, library with rare manuscripts and lithographs, botanical garden, planetarium, computing centre, test centre, university history archaeological sites, museums, sports complexes, and educational work clubs.

In addition to this, Bukhara State University has forged academic partnerships with different universities across the world in countries such as Italy, Ireland, France, Poland, Germany and the United States.

School of Law and Justice Studies The School of Law and Justice Studies at LJMU has a long tradition of marrying academic excellence and practical legal study. The School has a large suite of LLB, LLM, LPC and SQE programmes. The LLB has been adapted to include elements of preparation towards new routes to qualification under the new Solicitors Qualifying Examination. The Legal Advice Centre in the School has been embedded into the undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum to provide valuable experience and skills development for our undergraduate and postgraduate students. The school is the home to the Centre for the Study of Law in Theory and Practice (LTAP). Whilst embracing a wide range of research interests the Centre has particular strengths in Public International Law and Human Rights, European Law, International Criminal Law, Banking Regulation and Finance Law. The school submitted successfully to the REF 2014 and 2021.   As Lecturer in Law or Teaching Fellow in Law, you will be responsible for working with students on our undergraduate and/or postgraduate law programmes. Your working environment: As a postdoctoral research assistant at the Department of Romance Studies, you will collaborate in research and teaching as part of Prof. Dr. Judith Frömmer’s team. Our research focuses on French and Italian literature and media studies, with a historical emphasis on the Early Modern Period and Early Modernity and systematic focuses in the field of political theory and semantics, historical narrative research, and inter- and transmedial phenomena. Current research projects are dedicated to Machiavelli, the translation of early modern love poetry, and the poetics of minor characters. The team currently consists of a professor, a postdoctoral research assistant, a doctoral research assistant, an organisational assistant, and other staff members working on the third-party funded project “Petrarch in Global Translation: A Genealogy of Western Love.” The department is part of the Faculty of Philological and Cultural Studies and offers Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD degree programs in five Romance languages and teacher-training courses for secondary schools in three languages (French, Italian and Spanish). The position is limited to five years. Your future tasks: Active participation in research, teaching & administration, which means: You develop an independent research profile.
