Bukhara State Medical Institute was founded in 1990 by the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan. When it was opened the institute had just one faculty: the medical faculty. In 1992 the Stomatological Faculty was established and the institute began to expand.

Today the institute is organised into six faculties: the medical faculty; faculty of dentistry; faculty of medical education and higher nursing; faculty of pediatrics; medical biology and medical prevention; international faculty, and advanced training faculty for physicians. Each faculty has a number of departments, which offer both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

Research is an important part of the institute’s activity. Throughout the academic year both students and staff participate in research projects specializing in the areas of chest surgery, abdominal cavities, immunity science, pharmacology, biochemistry and morphology. There are also investigations into the influence of ecological factors on diseases and disease treatment methods.

Heirs of Ibn Sina is the name of the institute’s newspaper. It discusses issues relating to the life of the institute, as well as student and staff activity. It mainly focuses on scientific, pedagogical, spiritual, and educational work that the university is involved in.

The institute is located in Bukhara, a city in Uzbekistan. Bukhara has an abundance of religious history. The city’s historic centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is home to 140 protected buildings. Bukhara is rich with impressive architecture, a preserved royal fortress and remnants of a former market place.

Description The SHORES Center at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Associate position in the area of Digital Twins and Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Smart Infrastructure Management Systems to work under the supervision of Professor Borja García de Soto, director of the S.M.A.R.T. Construction Research Group and Co-PI in the SHORES Center. The successful candidate will also collaborate with researchers and other Investigators from the SHORES Center on project related to the advancement of multidisciplinary research supporting the digitalization of the built environment. The selected researcher will expand the current research in the area of AI- and ML-powered digital twin frameworks for civil, energy, and built-environment infrastructure. These frameworks integrate IoT-enabled sensing and real-time analytics to support continuous monitoring, data-driven evaluation, and predictive maintenance. The work also address user comfort and indoor environmental quality (IEQ) as key dimensions of infrastructure performance. This research forms part of a broader effort to design smart, adaptive, and resilient Infrastructure Management Systems that leverage digitalization, automation, and intelligent decision-making. Key Responsibilities include conduct cutting-edge research on the integration of Digital Twins with AI/ML technologies for infrastructure lifecycle management. Develop and validate computational models for monitoring and predicting infrastructure performance. Collaborate with faculty and researchers across SHORES. Disseminate research findings through high-impact publications and conference presentations. Mentor graduate and undergraduate students involved in related projects. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline with a focus on Digital Twins, AI, ML, or smart infrastructure systems. Strong background in computational modeling, data analytics, and/or automation in construction or infrastructure management. Demonstrated research excellence through peer-reviewed publications. Experience with programming languages and software platforms relevant to Digital Twin development (e.g., Python, MATLAB, Revit, Unity, or IoT frameworks). More experienced candidates can be hired for the Product Development Scientist position. Job Description Designing, developing, and optimizing novel organoid culture protocols, with a strong focus on patient-derived organoids and cancer organoids. Establishing robust 3D cell culture models, including optimization of culture media, extracellular matrix components, and growth factors. Integrating organoid models into Microphysiological Systems (MPS) to create physiologically relevant in vitro platforms. As a University of Applied Learning, SIT works closely with industry in our research pursuits. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT. The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver on a research project, funded by Singapore Ministry of Education (MOE), where you will be part of the research team to develop a scalable and comprehensive framework for formal verification of quantum programs. The framework consists of the following deliverables: Intermediate Language. We plan to develop an intermediate language to model quantum programs. The intermediate language would be complete to describe all the desired characteristics of quantum computing while at the same time simple enough to be understood by most programmers. Formal Verification Framework. We plan to develop a comprehensive framework to verify the correctness of quantum programs written in the proposed intermediate language. Mechanization. We plan to mechanize the formal framework using state-of-the-art theorem provers such as Coq or Isabelle/HOL. Proof Automation. We plan to develop formal methods for automatic reasoning that can be materialized into commercial tools.
