Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) was founded in 2008 to bring together the various educational institutes run by the military, creating a cohesive platform for advanced learning and professional development.

The university is administered by the country’s armed forces but open to both military and civilian students. 

It is situated in Mirpur Cantonment.

Academically, the university is structured into six faculties: Business Studies, Arts and Social Science, Security and Strategic Studies, Science and Technology, Medical Studies, and a combined Faculty of Business and Social Sciences. 

BUP is also home to two academic centres: the Centre for Higher Studies and Research, and the Centre for Modern Languages.

At undergraduate level, students can study subjects such as accounting and information systems, finance and banking, marketing, management studies, economics, sociology, English, development studies, public administration, international relations, mass communication and journalism, disaster and human security management, environmental science, computer science and engineering, and law. 

Postgraduate courses are on offer in the areas of public health, cybersecurity, international relations, environmental science, and various MBA pathways. Language and certificate programmes are also available in Arabic, French, German, Japanese, Turkish, Chinese, and English.

Nazarbayev University (NU) is signalling a step change in its research ambitions. Our new President, Professor Waqar Ahmad, has committed NU to becoming a globally outstanding research-intensive university.  To do this, we are strengthening our academic leadership. Professor Rehan Sadiq has joined us as Provost, from his role as Provost and Vice President at the University of British Columbia (Okanagan Campus). Professor Bjorn Birgisson, a world-class research leader, is joining NU as Vice Provost Research and Innovation. Other outstanding leadership positions will be announced in the coming weeks. The Vice Dean Research and Innovation is part of this drive to enhance research leadership at NU, to enable us to achieve our potential as an internationally competitive research-intensive university. NU is a young institution in Kazakhstan, conceived as a beacon of excellence, and thus holds significant strategic value for the country's and the region’s development. Our students are equivalent in ability to those attending the Ivy League or the Russell Group universities. Faculty come from around 60 nationalities, mostly with doctorates from leading, research-intensive universities. The School of Sciences and Humanities (SSH) comprises 220 faculty members and 2,500 undergraduate students. It encompasses basic sciences, social sciences and humanities disciplines. Research is at the heart of NU’s identity. We invest substantial amounts in research infrastructure and projects and compete for external research funds. While we can take pride in our research achievements, our current performance does not fully reflect our potential. Nor does the current position of 401-500 in the Times Higher World University Rankings reflect our strengths. The VDRI’s role will be to enhance productivity and quality of research across the School. Considering that 80% of SSH relates to STEM areas, your disciplinary background will be in the physical sciences (chemistry, mathematics or physics) but you will understand social sciences and humanities sufficiently to provide leadership across the School. To command authority and respect in the role you will hold Full Professorship with proven leadership experience and a record of developing research groups and individual scholars, and attracting research funds. As VDRI, you will be instrumental in achieving our ambitious goals by driving research excellence across all the discipline areas of SSH, fostering innovation, and strengthening NU's global academic standing. You will work closely with the Dean and Executive Committee of SSH as well as the Vice Provost Research and Innovation and the Provost. The Estate Development team is about to embark on delivering our new Estate Plan. The plan sets out to develop an estate of the right scale and configuration to underpin a campus that is both financially and environmentally sustainable. The Environmental Sustainability and Energy Team is a small but high impact team; in 2025 it achieved Eco Campus Platinum and ISO50001 Certification and supported the institution to reach 15th place in the People and Planet University League. We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join this driven and passionate team to lead on the implementation of two key sustainability delivery plans. We are looking for an Environmental Sustainability Manager who will be responsible for coordinating and delivering numerous workstreams under the Liverpool John Moores University Climate and Sustainability Plan. You will work to embed environmental sustainability into university day-to-day operations and support the university’s ambition of achieving Net Zero Carbon. The role will require flexibility across all sustainability themes, but key responsibilities will be to implement the Biodiversity and Active and Sustainable Travel Delivery Plans and to support the maintenance of the Environmental and Energy Management System (ISO14001/ISO50001 aligned). You will be based within Estate Development but will be expected to engage with key stakeholders and collaborate across university professional, academic and student communities to coordinate and drive activity to deliver continuous performance improvement. You will have a degree (or equivalent professional experience) in Ecology, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Natural Resource Management, or a related discipline; strong knowledge of biodiversity and ecological monitoring, including key species groups (birds, pollinators, bats); experience of ecological survey design, coordination, data collection, analysis, and reporting; have knowledge of relevant UK and regional policy frameworks relating to biodiversity, green infrastructure, sustainable transport, and climate resilience; have strong project management and organisational skills with the ability to deliver complex projects to budget and timescale. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential with the ability to engage and influence diverse stakeholders. Description The Mathematics Program in the Science Division, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a post-doctoral associate to work on one or more of the following topics: Mathematical Physics, Spectral Theory, Quantum Chaos, Large Graphs and Quantum Walks. Related areas such as Quantum Information can also be considered. This position is offered through the research funds of Mostafa Sabri. The Mathematics Program at NYUAD is quickly expanding, the candidate will find many international experts and postdocs with whom to interact. Weekly seminars are in place across the various research areas represented at NYUAD. The successful applicant will also receive a mobility credit to participate in conferences. Applicants must have a PhD in Mathematics, with a strong background in one of the advertised topics, as well as an excellent academic record. Candidates with PhDs in Physics or Computer Science may also be considered if they willing to collaborate with mathematicians on these topics. For consideration, applicants need to submit a cover letter, a curriculum vitae with a full publication list, a research statement, a transcript, and at least two letters of reference, all in PDF format.
