Work that matters The Lecturer is responsible for the development, delivery, and coordination of Primary Sciences and Maths Education courses within undergraduate and postgraduate programs in the School of Education. This position is responsible for designing, coordinating, and delivering engaging courses across on-campus and online formats, ensuring content remains contemporary, industry-relevant, and aligned with quality standards. The role contributes to the student experience through innovative teaching practices, effective assessment design, and the provision of academic support and guidance. Working collaboratively with academic and professional staff, the Lecturer will also support program development and contribute to the school’s broader teaching strategy. In addition to teaching, the Lecturer will establish and contribute to a strong program of research, producing high-quality outputs and building a competitive research profile through publications, funding, and collaborations. The role involves supervising research students, engaging in interdisciplinary projects, and strengthening partnerships with industry, community, and academic organisations to enhance both research impact and graduate outcomes. Your personal sphere of play: The Isotope physics group operates the Vienna Environmental Research Accelerator (VERA), an internationally well-established facility for accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS). A particular strength of VERA is the capability to perform state-of-the-art measurements all across the nuclear chart. Extending the AMS method to isotopes previously impossible to measure with a 3MV-accelerator is an important research activity. The VERAcore facility provides easy access to the state-of-the-art technology available at VERA to address highly demanding interdisciplinary research questions. The goal is to utilise VERA for AMS in a collaborative manner i) within the University of Vienna, ii) for Austrian customers and iii) beyond in international partnerships. Preference will be given to candidates with a special focus on scientific support for sample selection and preparation, AMS analysis and the interpretation of radioisotope data. The position is initially limited to four years, with the option of a permanent contract subject to a positive evaluation of the University of Vienna Core Facility “VERAcore” in the fourth year. Description The Perception and Active Cognition laboratory in the Center for Brain & Health, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a Post-Doctoral Associate to work on the mechanisms underlying mental processing speed. The successful applicant will drive a fascinating project that links processing speed measures to previously acquired functional and structural MRI data. The project will also involve simultaneously acquired and co-registered fMRI and EEG measurements. Measures of cognitive “Speed of Processing” are important for studies of healthy aging and many disorders, including multiple sclerosis, autism spectrum disorders, dyslexia, and schizophrenia, as well as diabetes and obesity. This project investigates the neural correlates of Speed of Processing and its subcomponents, translating into a more complete understanding of the mechanisms involved and their role in brain health. This project combines MRI and EEG/MEG studies with behavioral, genetic, and clinical measures to yield a more complete picture of how processing speed is related to health outcomes.  The candidate will work in a multidisciplinary environment consisting of PhD-level scientists, graduate students and undergraduate students.  Applicants must have a PhD in psychology, cognitive neuroscience or a related field. Strong neuroimaging data processing skills relevant to the project are required. Applicant must have no more than five years post receipt of this degree are eligible for a postdoctoral appointment.
