Ashoka University is a private institution funded by the "collective philanthropy" of more than 200 founders. It is based in Sanipat, Haryana, India.
It was named after Ashoka, an Indian emperor from the third century BC.
It was established in 2014.
It is based on a 25 acre campus in the Rajiv Gandhi Education City.
At undergraduate level it offers 12 pure and 11 multidisciplinary courses. Critical thinking, one of nine foundation options, is compulsory.
Prospective students are tested via an application form, the Ashoka Aptitude Assessment and an on-the-spot essay before a panel interview.
Other programmes include the Flagship Young India Fellowship which are one-year residencies in liberal studies and the INHERIT project which connects students to traditional Indian cultures, starting with the culinary arts and national heritage.

They should have a well-recognized track record of research and scholarship, as measured by impactful publications, extramural grant success, supervision of research postgraduate students in tertiary institutions, cross-disciplinary collaborative ties locally and internationally, outstanding academic leadership and evidence of international recognition. Experience in developing and implementing curricula and innovative teaching to prepare students adequately for challenges presented within all aspects of the nursing field is essential. Those with less experience may be considered for the appointment as an Associate Professor/Assistant Professor, and provided with opportunities for academic growth, career development, mentorship and protected time for educational and research activities, depending on the appointees’ interests and accomplishments. The appointees shall focus on the education of nursing students, postgraduate teaching and supervision, as well as academic research. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. Your personal sphere of influence: As a prae-doc at this chair, you will receive comprehensive training in criminal law (and, if desired, in related areas of law), including practical legal practice. The role An exciting opportunity for a Research Assistant with a background in mathematical modelling / epidemiology has become available in the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, in collaboration with the Surrey Institute for People-Centred Artificial Intelligence and the School of Mathematics, at the University of Surrey. The post holder will be working with Dr Joaquin Prada and European partners to develop epidemiological models for priority diseases in Europe as part of an EU funded project under the EU Partnership for Animal Health and Welfare (https://www.eupahw.eu/). In particular, the postholder will develop and integrate models for the spread of respiratory diseases in pigs and estimate the economic consequences of these diseases, with a focus on surveillance and control. The postholder will take responsibility for data analysis and statistical and mathematical modelling aspects of the projects, integrating outputs from the teams at the partner institutions. In addition, they will be required to participate in activities in Europe. They will be expected to present their work at conferences and to write publications based on their research findings. The post holder will have the opportunity to engage with other research fellows across the University and other project partners, and to take advantage of training opportunities targeted at early career researchers.
