Artvin Coruh University is located in Artvin with one of its three campuses alongside the Coruh river.

ACU was among the 17 universities created by the national government in 2007.

It was formed from faculties of science and letters, a health college and a vocational college previously operated by Kafkas University, along with graduate schools of natural and social science.

The main Seyitler Campus accommodates the administration, most graduate work, the faculties of engineering, management, and physical education and sport along with Artvin Vocational School on a 187 acre site.

The City campus’s 70 acres along the Coruh River host faculties of education, science and letter and health science along with the Vocational School of Health. Hopa is home to economic and administrative science, theology and Hopa Vocational School while Arhavi hosts art and design along with Arhavi Vocational School.

In 2020 it became a national specialist unit for medicinal and aromatic plants, connecting to both the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries, while specialist research centres focus on Beekeeping and on Forestry. 

The dormitories have space for 4,200 students.

The incumbent is required to teach, conduct research, publish and provide consultancy services in organic chemistry, soil science and related interdisciplinary fields Primary Responsibilities The primary accountabilities associated with this position include: Teaching Delivering lectures, seminars and tutorials related to Organic Chemistry and Soil Science. Develop and update course curricula and teaching materials. Assess and grade student work Provide feedback and support to students to enhance their learning experience. Advise undergraduate students related to their subject area. Research Engage in research activities within the field of teaching discipline. Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary research projects. Supervise students research projects particularly at the undergraduate level. Professional Development Stay current with developments in the respective field of expertise. Attend conferences, seminars and workshops in relation to field of expertise, upon approval. Engage in continuous professional development. Services Participate in school, external campus and university committees. Engage in community service and outreach activities. Administration Assist in course administration such as timetabling and resource management. Student Support Provide support in academic and career guidance to students. Hold regular office hours for student consultations. Promote an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Collaboration Working with colleagues on interdisciplinary research projects. Build relations with industries and other academic institutions. Collaborate with botany and wood science lecturers in laboratory management. Collaborate with NGOs, local communities and landowners on projects. The physical location of this position is at the Bulolo Campus in Bulolo Town. Qualification & Experience A minimum of a Master’s degree in a related field. At least 2 years teaching experience at tertiary level, 1 year post graduate or equivalent experience, a doctoral qualification acceptable to the university will be an advantage. Some experience in teaching, research, consultancy or professional activity is a bonus for the course of instructions or an appropriate combination built up over periods of normally not less than 2 years of post-qualification. Job Description:  We are seeking a highly motivated Research Engineer to join our team for a fixed-term project. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and validating objective texture testing methods that can accurately categorize foods within the International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative (IDDSI) framework, with a specific focus on Level 5 (Minced & Moist). This role will involve designing custom test fixtures, conducting practical laboratory work, and performing data analysis to create a robust and reliable testing protocol. Key Responsbilities: Conduct a comprehensive literature review on food rheology, texture analysis, particle analysis, image analysis and the IDDSI framework. Design and execute experiments to develop new instrumental texture analysis methods suitable for IDDSI Level 5 foods. Validate new methods against existing standards and a sensory panel to ensure accuracy and clinical relevance. Collect, analyze, and interpret data from instrumental and sensory evaluations. Document all experimental procedures, findings, and analyses in technical reports and prepare presentations to industry stakeholders and manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals. Collaborate with a research team, including food scientists, clinicians, and engineers, to ensure the developed methods are practical and clinically relevant. Job Requirements: A degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field. A Master's or Ph.D. in a related research field is advantageous. Experience with instrumental texture, image analysis and particle sizing techniques (e.g., texture analyzers, universal testing machines) is highly desirable. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in material characterization techniques, such as stress-strain characterization. Proficiency in analysis software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, R, or other statistical software). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Demonstrated commitment to strong research ethics and data integrity
