Description The New York University Abu Dhabi Center for Interdisciplinary Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (CIDSAI) and Computational Approaches to Modeling Language (CAMeL) Lab seek to hire a new research assistant to work in any of the CIDSAI/CAMeL research areas, to be involved in the development of open-source tools and resources, and to work on publications related to their work. The newly established CIDSAI’s mission is to produce research in data science and artificial intelligence. The CAMeL lab’s mission is focused on research in Arabic natural language processing and computational linguistics. The selected candidate will assist with specific projects in CIDSAI that involve Arabic NLP, and will be housed in the CAMeL Lab. Since its establishment in 2014, the CAMeL Lab has produced over 180 publications and 20 language resources and tools. The lab website is http://www.camel-lab.com/. A strong preference is for individuals with (a) computer science or computer engineering degrees including previous experience in natural language processing or computational linguistics/language technologies degrees; (b) strong programming and software engineering skills, and machine learning experience; and (c) some research publication experience. Knowledge of Arabic language is preferred, but not required. Previous work on Arabic NLP is preferred but not required.
