(pro-rata) Location: Yolngu – Nhulunbuy View Position Description Flinders Rural and Remote Health NT At Flinders Rural and Remote Health NT, our aim is to be a hub for innovative health research, education, and workforce development across the Northern Territory. We engage with students, community, and stakeholders to provide critical programs, such as the Northern Territory Medical Program, Paramedicine, Rural Clinical School, and the University Department of Rural Health. Our postgraduate education pathways (Remote Health Practice program), provides workforce development through Indigenous health and clinical skills training, and we have a community driven research program led by researchers committed to improving health outcomes. We work alongside Poche SA+NT focussing on Indigenous leadership capacity development and developing the Indigenous health workforce. All activities are driven by our values which focus on the long-term and short-term needs of the NT community. About the Role The Senior Lecturer in Remote Medicine will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality teaching and learning within the Northern Territory Medical Program (NTMP). This position focuses on designing and implementing remote health experiences, supervising medical students in primary care settings, and fostering innovative teaching practices. Drawing on extensive clinical expertise, the role also involves mentoring clinical supervisors, developing curricula, and building partnerships to enhance student success and graduate employability. Lead the design, delivery, and evaluation of Remote Medicine teaching across NTMP, including clinical skills training and simulation. Supervise and assess Year 3 and 4 medical students and electives during extended remote placements. Contribute to curriculum development, accreditation processes, and continuous quality improvement of courses. Build and maintain partnerships with health services and stakeholders to support work-integrated learning and remote health initiatives. About You You are an experienced medical educator with a passion for remote health and a commitment to innovative teaching. The NIHR BioResource Centre Maudsley leads the NIHR BioResource for Mental Health. We focus on recruiting participants experiencing mental health conditions, as well as healthy people. About the role: We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Laboratory Technician to support the large-scale biobanking of blood samples for the Genetic Links to Anxiety and Depression (GLAD) Study Mental Health Goals (MHG) OMICs Programme. This project represents the largest multiomics programme for severe depression worldwide, designed to accelerate discovery in psychiatric genomics and to provide a long-term resource for the research community. This position provides an exciting opportunity to work in a cross-disciplinary environment, applying cutting-edge biobanking and genomic technologies to mental health research. The role will centre on the receipt, processing, and storage of thousands of blood samples, ensuring accurate sample tracking and data linkage within our ISO17025-accredited pipelines. The postholder will also support semi-automated sample processing, DNA extraction, and preparation of material for downstream genomic assays including Illumina genotyping and Oxford Nanopore sequencing. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team of laboratory scientists, bioinformaticians, and study coordinators, the postholder will ensure the highest quality of biobanking and data integrity. Responsibilities will include contributing to laboratory reports, maintaining detailed records, and supporting quality assurance processes. The post holder will provide operational lab leadership across both King’s Genomics and the GLAD Mental Health Goals programme. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge genomics and biomarker research through large scale sample collection (Biobanking), GWAS, long read sequencing and assay development, while playing a central role in the operation and development of both facilities.
