The Department of History of State and Law is a unit of the Faculty of Law at Masaryk University that carries out educational and scientific research activities in the field of legal history and Roman law. In terms of teaching, it primarily delivers compulsory courses in Modern Czech and Czechoslovak Legal History, General Legal History and Roman Law, as well as compulsory elective courses in these fields. In the field of research, the department focuses primarily on the subject of modern Czech legal history in its entirety, specifically the period of the First Czechoslovak Republic, the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, and the period of socialism and the functioning of law under totalitarian regimes, as well as the history of legal science. The department’s research also includes studies in the field of Roman law and its institutions, including their legacy and influence on subsequent legal developments and contemporary law. Your duties will include: teaching on courses primarily focused on legal history within accredited degree programmes and lifelong learning programmes, including the development of study programmes, research activities, including publishing and applied research, making a significant contribution to project work and contract research, contributing to the organisational and administrative aspects of research and teaching activities. We require: a completed Master’s degree from a law faculty, specialising in Law, a Ph.D. (for the position of research assistant), the ability to teach and publish in Czech, a genuine interest in the field of modern legal history, information regarding concurrent employment within the meaning of Section 70 of Act No. 111/1998 Coll. on Higher Education Institutions, as amended, the ability to teach independently in the field of modern legal history in both Czech and English, ideally with experience of teaching at university level, the ability to conduct independent research in the field of modern legal history in Czech and English, demonstrated by relevant academic publications or participation in research projects, knowledge of German is an advantage, good character. Full Professor of Eastern Slavic Literature and Cultural Studies 45 Faculty of Philological and Cultural Studies Working hours: 40 Reference no.: 5764 At the Faculty of Philological and Cultural Studies the University of Vienna invites applications for a Full Professor of Eastern Slavic Literature and Cultural Studies The position: The successful candidate represents the field of Slavic Literary and Cultural Studies with a primary focus on one East Slavic literature and culture and demonstrates expertise in at least one additional East Slavic literature and culture (Russian and/or Ukrainian, and, where appropriate, Belarusian). The appointee is expected to conduct research on East Slavic literatures and cultures in their diverse transnational entanglements and to apply current methodological approaches in literary and cultural studies in a productive and reflective manner. Furthermore, evidence of active integration into international research networks is required. Active participation in East Central European Studies as well as interdisciplinary collaboration within the University of Vienna’s research priorities is expected. Part-time Faculty Member in Music Performance (Ref: SCC260612) The Department of Music (DMUS) at BNBU invites applications from learner-centered scholars/practitioners in the field of music to teach voice (popular) to undergraduate students in the Music Performance programme. Qualifications: A Master’s Degree, PhD or DMA in Music Performance or Music Education, specialising in popular and contemporary voice instruction. Successful candidates are expected to be committed to excellence in undergraduate teaching. Preference will be given to candidates who have international teaching experience in a higher education setting. Evidence of success in the organisation and coordination of musical performances is a plus. The Role and Department The Life Science Support Unit (LSSU) has had an active role within the research community here at Durham University for around 50 years, and as such it has facilitated numerous research projects across various disciplines. As a major research support facility, it currently houses and supports research and expertise from neuroscience, agritechnology, anthropology, biology, chemistry and ecology, and has been providing both Polyclonal and Monoclonal antibody production services to a range of both academic research groups and commercial partners for 7+ years. The LSSU is a multi-species facility and can provide for both aquatic, rodent and rabbit husbandry. We have a range of housing options available from conventional to IVCs and isolator units, depending upon researcher need and colony requirements. The post holder will have skills and experience in managing a team of technicians; supporting, advising and assisting researchers where appropriate and carrying out roles as a Named Animal Care and Welfare Officer, and Named Training and Competency Officer.The role has a legal obligation under the Animal (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 in an animal welfare and ethical capacity and provides a service to internal and external research and companies.
