Founded in 1815, Alleghany College is a private liberal arts college located in the town of Meadville, Pennsylvania.

The university is located on a main campus alongside a university-owned recreational area and a protected nature reserve. Aside from a healthcare facility, observatory, extensive library and dining provisions, the university also has a wide range of recreational facilities for students to enjoy.

As well as a wide range of student societies, the university also offers a number of athletics facilities such as gyms, running tracks and a swimming pool. These facilities are available for recreational use and the university’s array of competitive sports teams, including baseball, basketball, American football, tennis, swimming, soccer and golf.

Located in the town of Meadville, close to the Ohio border, Alleghany College is within driving distance of the city of Erie, overlooking the Great Lakes, allowing students to easily experience the world outside of the university campus.

In terms of academia, the university offers a varied range of subjects across both Humanities and Natural Sciences. The university also requires that undergraduate students choose a minor, and often prefers for that minor to be in subject in a very different field to their major.

As well as this, the university also maintains a number of official partnerships with other institutions internationally across the United States, Europe and Asia.

Allegheny College has produced numerous famous and successful alumni, including former US president William McKinley, lawyer Clarence Darrow and the pioneering journalist Ida Tarbell.

Build the operational foundations of a modern People service City St George’s, University of London is seeking to appoint a Director of Operational People Services to lead the next stage of development in its People Directorate. This is a significant opportunity to join a newly formed university at an important point in its evolution. The People Directorate has a central role to play in supporting that next chapter. Reporting to the Chief People Officer, the Director of Operational People Services will lead a broad portfolio covering People Operations, Employee Relations and Policy, People Systems, Global Mobility, reward and related services. The successful candidate will help strengthen service standards, lead the continued implementation of technology and develop the standard operating procedures, workflows and process improvements needed to support a modern service. They will also help move the University towards a clearer tiered model of support, with greater use of self-service, clearer routes for advice and stronger manager accountability. We are looking for a senior HR leader with a strong track record in complex People operations and HR service delivery. You will bring experience of leading multi-disciplinary teams, improving service quality, managing employee relations and policy, working with people systems and delivering practical change in a complex environment. Experience of higher education would be highly valuable. In this casual academic role, you will be expected to facilitate face-to-face seminars and/or tutorials. Job Purpose:  The Research Engineer will support applied research and innovation in environmental sustainability, working with internal teams and industry partners to develop practical solutions. The role focuses on translating scientific concepts into scalable solutions that address challenges in meeting environmental sustainability target through resource efficiency, waste management, and other sustainable solutions for various industries. Research engineers will collaborate closely with faculty, professional officers and industry partners to execute commercially viable solutions that address real-world challenges. In the process, research engineers gain valuable applied research capabilities aligned with evolving industry needs. Key Responsibilities: Applied Research & Development Conduct reviews on sustainability literature, frameworks and assessment tools for both generic industry-wide and industry-specific applications, such as life cycle analysis (LCA), environmental impact assessments, energy analysis and resource optimization studies Develop sustainability solution road mapping and development framework to supports identification and follow-through of sustainability solutions for organizational green transition. Support development of sustainability solutions and applications to implement organizational green transition through project execution (experimentation, data collection, analysis and evaluation) including includes but not limited to carbon management, circular economy, renewable energy, and sustainable materials. Industry Collaboration Support collaborations with industry partners to understand problem statements and contribute to solution development Assist in project scoping by gathering technical inputs and identifying relevant capabilities within the ecosystem (IHLs, research centres, industry partners) Participate in industry meetings, discussions, and project engagements Project Execution & Support Assist in planning and executing projects to ensure timely delivery of outcomes Generate technical reports, presentations, and documentation on the development of sustainability solutions and applications Contribute to grant proposals and project submissions where required Track project progress and maintain proper documentation of activities Job Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree with 5+ year experience OR Master’s degree with 2+ year experience in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Engineering with sustainability training, or a related field or related disciplines with relevant experience in research, engineering, product development or sustainability related work. Possess understanding of sustainability concepts (e.g., LCA, carbon foot printing, resource efficiency) Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
