Al-Nisour University College is a university in Baghdad, Iraq. It was established in 2012 and has obtained recognition from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. It transitioned from a college to a university in October 2013. The university is a member of The Association of Arab Universities which is also known as the Union of Arab Universities. This is an organisation that works within the framework of the Arab League. The university specialises in the fields of computer technology, engineering, analytical techniques, law, business management and English language. The university hopes to expand to include more colleges such as dentistry, pharmacy, media, accounting, banking, physical education and sports sciences. There are currently eight departments which include computer engineering techniques; medical laboratory technique, business administration, English language, law, radiology techniques, physical education and science and anesthesiology techniques. There a number of libraries at the university including the private electronic library, the free scientific library, the free public library, the Iraqi legal library and the Iraqi virtual scientific library. The university conducts a lot of scientific research in computer engineering, pathological analysis techniques, English language and literature, law and business administration. Baghdad is the capital city of Iraq and is also the largest city in Iraq. It is also the second largest city in the Arab world. The university is located along the Tigris River and was founded in the 8th Century. It has since evolved into a significant cultural, commercial, and intellectual centre of the Islamic World. It has developed a reputation as being the "Centre of Learning".

About the Job As a Student Records Officer, you will join our busy and dynamic Student Records team to manage UEL student data, including students’ enrolment records, module registration and tuition fees, and to support academic colleagues in our Schools with the management of their student cohorts. Call for Proposals: Two Postdoctoral Positions in Quantum Technology The Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture has announced additional support for national doctoral education pilot in quantum technology (QDOC) aimed at postdoc recruitments. The focus is on supporting the training and supervision of the 90 doctoral students who are currently enrolled under QDOC across Finland. QDOC team invites applications for two postdoctoral positions that combines research with the development and delivery of a course or training module aimed at QDOC students nationally. The duration for each position is one year, with the possibility of extension for an additional year. While the positions are formally hosted at Aalto University, the employee may, at their own discretion, pursue a visitor agreement with a QDOC host university, subject to agreement by Aalto University and the host university of the visit. Applicants should include a brief plan for potential visits in their application. We are open to research backgrounds in both academic and industrial environments. Your role and goals The postdoc must develop and deliver a course or training activity equivalent to 5 ECTS credits, targeted at QDOC students nationally, during the funding period. The course or activity focus may be technical (e.g. quantum science and technology, methods etc.) or general (e.g. scientific communication, supervision, entrepreneurship etc.). Co-supervision of QDOC students within the funding period is considered an advantage. We expect the candidates to have: Completed a PhD degree in a field complementary to the goals of QDOC. As a University of Applied Learning, SIT works closely with industry in our research pursuits. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT. This project focuses on federated causal inference in heterogeneous data environments, addressing the challenge of enabling trustworthy causal analysis across distributed datasets while preserving privacy. The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end investigation of novel federated learning strategies for causal inference. The role will bridge rigorous theoretical work with hands-on algorithm design and development on real-world datasets. The core responsibility is to build and validate federated causal inference algorithms through simulations and live demonstrations. Key Responsibilities Participate in and manage the research project with Principal Investigator (PI) to ensure all project deliverables are met. Derivation of novel performance metrics for federated causal inference algorithms. Analysis of causal inference models in federated settings using synthetic and real-world datasets. Design and development of novel federated causal inference algorithms and associated software APIs. Validation of algorithms via simulations and live demonstrations. Job Requirements A Master's degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or equivalent. Strong theoretical background in statistics and machine learning. Knowledge of the basics of federated learning and causal inference is highly encouraged. Proven track record in research and development of machine learning algorithms. Proficiency in algorithm development using Python and ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow. Key Competencies Work independently, as well as within a team, to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment. Able to build and maintain strong working relationships with people within and external to the university. Self-directed learner who believes in continuous learning and development. Proficient in technical writing and presentation. Possess strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

The Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Helsinki invites applications for the position of INFORMATION SYSTEMS SPECIALIST for a fixed-term appointment from 11 May, 2026 to 31 March, 2027, or as agreed. We seek an information systems specialist to join the ReliaCode project at the University of Helsinki. Our aim is to make LLMs usable in organisational settings with high reliability requirements, especially for reasoning about complex document collections. We’re building methods to make it easier to tell when LLM outputs can’t be trusted, and to improve systems efficiently from limited human feedback. The work is part of an early-stage initiative based in a university environment, with secured funding and a strong focus on real-world impact through pilot collaborations with organizations. The goal is to iteratively develop a product that could evolve either into a general-purpose platform for unstructured data processing or a focused solution in a specific domain. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of research and product, and to help shape the technical direction of a potential startup from the ground up. We are offering a year-long full-time contract with the possibility of continuing afterwards in a potential spin-out company.
