Research Officer/Assistant Research Officer in the Department of Psychology (Ref.: 536286) Duties and Responsibilities The appointee will be responsible for the research and implementation of a large-scale mental health and well-being project for primary schools in Hong Kong under the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Social Sciences. Major tasks include: Devising and designing research studies and evaluation frameworks. Implementing research activities and programme evaluation. Collecting and analysing data. Preparing technical research reports. Coordinating a team of research staff and interns. Performing administrative tasks supporting the research-cum-intervention project. Any other duties as assigned. Requirements The appointee should possess: A Ph.D. or MPhil degree in Psychology, Social Sciences, or a related discipline. A good command of written and spoken English and Chinese. Strong research skills in Psychology or Social Sciences. Proficiency in advanced statistical software (e.g., R, Stata, or Python), as well as MS Excel and Chinese typing. Experience in the implementation of community or educational research projects will be an advantage. Proven ability to supervise junior researchers and research assistants. Demonstrated leadership in managing and coordinating a research team to achieve project objectives. What We Offer The appointment will commence in September 2026, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary for Assistant Research Officer and 15% for Research Officer, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. About the role: The Speech Pathology Lecturer (Industry Professional) will contribute to the teaching teams in the postgraduate programs to enhance the student learning experience and outcomes. This is your opportunity to contribute to making a direct impact on the Master of Speech Pathology program through clinical education support and teaching related activities. This position is suited to a person with current clinical expertise, clinical education experience and a passion for developing and delivering effective teaching practices to support high quality learning and success for speech pathology students. A keen interest in engagement with the disability sector to support teaching and employability is also necessary. As a Lecturer in Speech Pathology, you will: Apply industry, clinical and/or research practice into student learning experiences, success, engagement and resources. Contribute to the review of units and courses and implement refinements. Support the development and delivery of clinically-focussed learning opportunities across the curriculum Adopt new innovation in curriculum design at the unit level in consultation with unit chairs and deliver learner-centric, research-informed teaching practices Provide academic support to students whilst undertaking clinical placement activities and guide students to appropriate support services To be successful, you’ll have: Master of Speech Pathology or other relevant qualifications with relevant professional experience; Recent (within the last five years) speech pathology practice experience Knowledge, understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and contemporary issues.
