Al-Farabi University College was established in 2013, offering seven academic departments: civil engineering, architecture, petroleum engineering, computer engineering, biology, law, and media. In 2017, the university expanded, adding three more departments: oil and gas refinery engineering, accounting and banking sciences, and nursing. Since then, the university’s academic offering has developed further, opening the departments of: dentistry, medical laboratory techniques, optics techniques, and design.
The university college’s campus is spread across 20 acres in the Dora area in the South of Baghdad. The university has a large library of over 20,000 titles.
The university college is a member of the International Federation of Universities, and aims to use modern teaching and learning methods.
