About the role - Mō tēnei tūranga mahi The School of Veterinary Science, Massey University, is seeking applicants for a position in the Pathobiology and Infectious Disease group as a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer Veterinary Pathology. The purpose of this position is to prepare and teach subjects relating to anatomical and/or clinical pathology, enhance the learning and qualification outcomes of Massey University’s students and contribute to the scholarly outputs and standing of the University. This includes undertaking an effective programme of veterinary teaching, supervising postgraduate students and residents, providing diagnostic pathology services, undertaking research and scholarship, and providing administrative and professional service to the University and the broader academic, professional and general communities. This is a full-time, permanent position based on the Manawatū campus in Palmerston North. We design and deliver trials and related research, including coordination, monitoring, data acquisition and management, and statistical analysis. Our health economics, biostatistics, systematic reviews, and biomarker teams work with trial data to inform healthcare providers about best practices. The Clinical Trials Program Manager plays a pivotal leadership role within the CTC, providing strategic, operational and managerial oversight of complex clinical trials across their directed area of responsibility. Working under broad direction from the Associate Director, Clinical Trial Operations, this role oversees the design, establishment and delivery of clinical trials, ensuring the highest standards of quality, compliance, governance and performance are maintained. With responsibility for financial oversight and resource management, the role contributes to budget development, expenditure monitoring and funding opportunities, supporting the sustainability and growth of CTC's clinical trial portfolio. Profound knowledge of ICH-GCP guidelines, regulatory and ethical approval processes, and demonstrated ability to ensure compliant, high-quality clinical trial conduct. You will be expected to perform experiments deliver project outcomes and produce reports, manuals and manuscripts for dissemination of findings. We are looking for a PhD-level scientist with strong molecular biology expertise to join our team. You will design and assemble expression constructs, verify sequences, and optimize vector elements like promoters, UTRs, signal peptides, and tags. Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture, aseptic technique, and transfection methods is essential. You will run expression screens and analyse results using SDS-PAGE, Western blot, ELISA, and functional assays. Accuracy in documentation, inventory management, and data traceability is key. You will be a self-starter able to work independently, build effective relationships as part of a team and collaborate with others across academic–industry teams. Based across King’s Denmark Hill, Guy’s, St Thomas’ and Waterloo campuses, our academic programme of teaching, research and clinical practice is embedded across five Departments About the role The EMBRACE Chief Operating Officer is the operational and partnership lead for the Inkfish EMBRACE (Enhanced Maternal and Baby Results with AI-supported Care and Empowerment) programme, setting up and managing the operations across the multi-partner, multiple country consortium. The post holder is required to be a highly experienced, strategic leader with expertise in artificial intelligence in the context of personalised health. EMBRACE is a visionary, multicomponent international research programme, the first of its kind in the world, supported by Inkfish with £35M core funds over six years, starting in April 2025. It is a global study of 60,000 participants, including 20,000 mothers, 20,000 infants and up to 20,000 partners. It brings together world-leading clinician scientists across six distinguished Healthcare organisations, world-leading AI & technology companies, together with premier biotech companies, with the overarching aim to fast-track major scientific breakthroughs, revolutionise maternal and early childhood health through precision-personalised interventions, powered by a groundbreaking symbiosis of cutting-edge AI combined with human support. The post holder is responsible for establishing and managing the EMBRACE programme working closely with the study Director and lead PI, Professor Josip Car (King’s College London), Senior Advisors, other members of the research leadership team and Industry partner organisations. The EMBRACE Chief Operating Officer will manage all parties within the global consortium and key stakeholders to set up and maintain an operational framework that meets the regulatory requirements of each partner country and organisation to meet EMBRACE’s ambitious goals. They will oversee day-to-day execution of decisions and contracts, including the oversight of the research teams and business operations.
