The School of Biological and Environmental Sciences, within the Faculty of Health, Innovation, Technology and Science, seeks to appoint a Lecturer in Conservation. This is an exciting opportunity to join an enthusiastic team and play an important role in ensuring our students enjoy a fantastic student experience.  You will be expected to make broad contributions to the academic work of the School of Biological and Environmental Sciences, particularly in the area of conservation. Experience in zoo conservation would be beneficial as would the ability to assist on field trips. You will hold a PhD in the field of Conservation Biology, and have experience of teaching undergraduate students, ideally across all levels. The Head of School will be a highly visible, externally engaged leader, providing strong academic, operational and people leadership to more than 60 FTE academic and professional staff educating over 690 EFTS students across public health, Māori health, Pacific health and social wellbeing, while delivering research with real‑world impact. Suited to an experienced academic health leader with a strong record of leading large, complex academic environments, the role requires clear, values‑led leadership and the ability to foster a high‑performing, inclusive and collaborative culture. Direct line management of academic staff and leadership of a school, department or equivalent unit is preferable. Successful track record securing grant funding and external research income. The team The Institute for Photonics and Advanced Sensing (IPAS) fosters excellence in research in physics, materials science, chemistry, biology and medicine.
