As a University of Applied Learning, SIT works closely with industry in our research pursuits. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT. The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver on an industry innovation research project where you will be part of the research team to develop new herbicide compounds focusing on synthesis and characterizations of HPPD inhibitor herbicides. Key Responsibilities Participate in and manage the research project with Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met. i. Undertake these responsibilities in the project: ii. Design and synthesize novel HPPD inhibitor compounds iii. Conduct laboratory experiments for the synthesis of target compounds, including purification and characterization using techniques such as NMR, MS, FTIR, GC and HPLC Optimize synthetic routes and troubleshoot any challenges encountered during synthesis Carry out Risk Assessment, and ensure compliance with Work, Safety and Health Regulations. Coordinate procurement and liaison with vendors/suppliers. Work independently, as well as within a team, to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment. Job Requirements A master’s degree or Ph.D. in chemistry, or a related field. Experience in organic synthesis techniques and analytical instrumentation. Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. The role The Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences is seeking to appoint a motivated individual to join the Clinical Placements Administration Team. The post holder will work closely with the Senior Administration Officer, Clinical Placements Manager, wider clinical placements team, and academic and administrative staff aligned to the School of Health Sciences and Veterinary Medicine to deliver a high quality and efficient service.  The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate a strong customer focus and understanding of what students, staff and external placement providers will require from them. The role requires a proactive individual, competent in the use of IT with an attitude open to change. The ability to work to a high level of accuracy is also essential. The Opportunity Western Sydney University is seeking a Project Implementation Lead to provide leadership for the implementation of the Maternal Early Childhood Sustained Home-visiting (MECSH) program. MECSH is a structured, sustained nurse home visiting program designed to support families at risk of poorer maternal and child health and development outcomes through the critical early years of life. Developed at Western Sydney University, MECSH draws on the best available evidence on early childhood development, parent infant interaction, and holistic approaches to family support. The program has demonstrated effectiveness through randomised controlled trials in Australia and is now implemented nationally and internationally, including in Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States and South Korea. You will work closely with researchers, clinicians, clinical leaders and service managers to co-design and support high-quality implementation of the MECSH program across diverse service contexts. The role includes extensive domestic and international travel and contributes to implementation research through strong stakeholder engagement, supervision, training and community-of-practice leadership. What Success Looks Like: Strong stakeholder relationships maintained with internal teams and external partners. Effective supervision of MECSH Local Implementation Network Consultants across Australia and internationally. About You Tertiary qualifications in nursing or an allied health discipline with extensive experience in child and family health.
