The School of Music at University College Dublin is pleased to invite applications from outstanding candidates for an Ad Astra PhD Scholarship in Digital (Ethno)musicology. The Ad Astra scheme involves students working under the supervision of an Ad Astra Fellow, a major recruitment initiative by University College Dublin. The Ad Astra Scholarships last for four years and includes an annual stipend of €25,000, a full fee-waiver, and an allowance of €4,000 per annum for research costs. Successful applicants must meet the University’s standard PhD admission requirements and be accepted into the School of Music’s PhD programme. Applications are invited in the following area: Digital (Ethno)musicology under the supervision of Dr. Abigail C. Lindo (abigail.lindo@ucd.ie). Start date: September 2026. We welcome applications from across a broad range of musicological and ethnomusicological topics beyond Western art music, especially with attention to 20th and/or 21st century Black Music and technology. The successful applicant should have a background in ethnomusicology, digital musicology, sound studies, digital humanities, music pedagogy, and/or creative practice, and should have or be working towards a masters degree in ethnomusicology, musicology, or a related field. In addition to supervision from Dr. Lindo, the successful candidate will be encouraged to collaborate with other faculty members across interdisciplinary interests. The UCD School of Music has various performance groups including a symphony orchestra, composition ensemble, gamelan ensemble, Irish traditional music ensemble, and several choral groups. UCD also has several performance spaces including a black box theatre and adjacent AV lab, recital space, and larger concert venues for orchestral contexts. Description The Mathematics Program in the Science Division, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a post-doctoral associate to work on one or more of the following topics: Mathematical Physics, Spectral Theory, Quantum Chaos, Large Graphs and Quantum Walks. Related areas such as Quantum Information can also be considered. This position is offered through the research funds of Mostafa Sabri. The Mathematics Program at NYUAD is quickly expanding, the candidate will find many international experts and postdocs with whom to interact. Weekly seminars are in place across the various research areas represented at NYUAD. The successful applicant will also receive a mobility credit to participate in conferences. Applicants must have a PhD in Mathematics, with a strong background in one of the advertised topics, as well as an excellent academic record. Candidates with PhDs in Physics or Computer Science may also be considered if they willing to collaborate with mathematicians on these topics. About us: This post will be based in the Health Psychology Section of the Department of Psychology, at King’s College London, embedded within a dynamic team that brings together expertise in long-term condition management, complex intervention development (including digital health), randomized controlled trials, and implementation research. The Health Psychology Section has played a pivotal role in shaping the discipline within the UK and is internationally recognised for excellence in both research and teaching. Our work spans fundamental research into the psychosocial processes underlying adaptation to long-term conditions and the experience of symptoms, as well as translational research testing the efficacy and effectiveness of theory-based psychological interventions for people living with long-term conditions.  We are also at the forefront of developing and evaluating innovative methods to support self-management of health, symptoms, mood, and adherence, with a strong emphasis on digital interventions. REFUEL-MS is a £2.7 million, 5.5-year programme grant for applied research, funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) and the MS Society. We are currently just over three years into the programme. The grant is led by Professor Rona Moss-Morris at King’s College London, in collaboration with the University of Northumbria, Bournemouth University, Queen Margaret University, the University of Plymouth, a Lived Experience Advisory Group, and the MS Society. The overall aim of REFUEL-MS is to integrate existing components of exercise and behavioural interventions into an individually tailored, health care professional-supported digital fatigue treatment. We have completed the first three work packages and are currently running work package 4, a randomised controlled trial to evaluate the clinical and cost effectiveness of REFUEL-MS, with completion expected by the end of 2026. The fifth and final work package will begin implementation of REFUEL-MS in four UK MS services, exploring barriers and facilitators to future adoption. The Programme Manager will play a central role in strategically managing and coordinating all work packages within REFUEL-MS. This includes overseeing the budget, ensuring that each project is delivered on time, and maintaining adherence to standard operating procedures. The role requires close collaboration with the central research team at King’s College London and the Programme Management Group, ensuring effective communication and coordination across partner institutions and stakeholders. This is a key leadership position within a complex, multi-disciplinary, multi-institutional programme. The successful candidate will need strong organisational skills, the ability to manage competing priorities, and experience in overseeing large-scale research projects including clinical trials. They will be expected to support the delivery of high-quality outputs, facilitate smooth collaboration across teams, and contribute to the successful implementation of REFUEL-MS in NHS services. This is a full-time (35 hours per week) fixed term post ending on the 31st March 2028.
