The Faculty of Education invites applications for the position of Full/Associate/Assistant Professor in Artificial Intelligence and Educational Technology. Qualifications We invite applications from researchers whose work advances knowledge in educational technology and artificial intelligence (AI) across all levels of education. Relevant research areas include, but are not limited to (1) theoretical foundations of information technology education and AI education; (2) impact of information technology and AI on teaching and learning; (3) AI-empowered curriculum design; (4) AI and educational assessment; (5) information technology and AI literacy in teacher education; (6) educational technology/AI, learner diversity and inclusive education; and (7) ethics and policy for AI in education. Applicants should have: (1) a doctoral degree in educational technology, AI in education, artificial intelligence, computer science, or related areas; (2) a clearly defined research agenda at the intersection of information technology/artificial intelligence and education; (3) a track record of international research and scholarship, evidenced by publications in top-tier journals (e.g., SSCI or SCI indexed journals); (4) a teaching record at the university level, particularly in courses related to use of artificial intelligence/information technology in teaching and learning; (5) proven experience in leading or developing innovative educational programmes and curricula that integrate artificial intelligence or other emerging information technology; and (6) excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary and multicultural environment. Those who apply for the position of Full/Associate Professor should demonstrate a strong international network of collaborations with scholars and practitioners in the field and the ability to manage and engage in international/national collaborative research projects. Priority consideration will be given to candidates with cross-disciplinary degrees in both an information technology-related area (e.g., artificial intelligence, computer science, data science) and education. The selected candidate is expected to assume duty as soon as possible in 2026. Remuneration A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP1,250,200 (approximately USD154,350) for the position of Full Professor, MOP1,052,800 (approximately USD129,980) for the position of Associate Professor, and MOP855,400 (approximately USD105,600) for the position of Assistant Professor will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% - 7% after various discretionary exemptions. The project aims to uncover how animals with miniature brains can efficiently process multisensory stimuli. Using a powerful combination of techniques – high-resolution imaging, intracellular recordings and behavioural experiments – this project aims to uncover how beetles detect and respond to deep-red stimuli and infrared (heat) information. Results will provide new information about evolution and function of sensory systems and have the potential to unlock biological solutions for modern problems, including improved efficiency of sensors and image processing. The Research Officer will lead field expeditions to collect insects, primarily based in the mallee regions of Australia (particularly Western Australia) and forests in North America or Europe. They will have the opportunity to contribute to anatomical (e.g. electron microscopy), physiological (e.g., electrophysiology), and/or behavioural experiments (e.g. field studies, controlled laboratory studies). The Research Officer will join a world-class team and benefit from collaboration and training with leading scientists across multiple institutions, including Dr Patricia Jusuf (University of Melbourne), Prof Gregor Belušič (University of Ljubljana), and Prof Kentaro Arikawa (Graduate University for Advanced Studies, SOKENDAI), with planned research visits to these groups during the project. About us: The post will be based in the KCL Social, Genetic, and Developmental Psychiatry Centre, within the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience (IoPPN). The Social, Genetic & Developmental Psychiatry (SGDP) Centre is uncovering the genetic and environmental influences on mental health and psychiatric disorders. Our research encompasses behavioural genetics, molecular genetics, experimental psychology and psychiatry, and neuroimaging. Scientists at the SGDP lead some of the UK’s foremost longitudinal cohort and twin studies including TEDS, eRISK, Dunedin, IMAGEN and GLAD. The NIHR BioResource Centre Maudsley leads the NIHR BioResource for Mental Health. We focus on recruiting participants experiencing mental health conditions, as well as healthy people. Alongside GLAD MHG and The GLAD study, Prof. Breen’s team boasts an accomplished portfolio of clinical and genetic studies which aim to improve treatment and outcomes for those affected by anxiety, depression, eating disorders and other mental health conditions.  About the role: We are looking to appoint a Senior Research Programme Manager to oversee the delivery of the large-scale Genetic Links to Anxiety and Depression Mental Health Goals programme (GLAD MHG) and associated projects within the NIHR BioResource Centre Maudsley working closely with Theme Lead Prof. Gerome Breen. Despite being a leading cause of disability worldwide, Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) is an underserved market segment with significant unmet medical need, GLAD MHG will leverage proven success and substantial investment from KCL, Maudsley and NIHR BioResource in the GLAD study to create a trial-ready dataset integrating detailed phenotyping, multi-omics, and medical records to support MDD precision psychiatry. The GLAD Study is the largest anxiety and depression project ever undertaken. The study is part of the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) BioResource. It is led by researchers at King’s College London, in collaboration with researchers at Ulster University, University of Edinburgh, and Cardiff University. GLAD was launched in September 2018, and over 30,000 participants have fully enrolled. We are inviting applications from candidates with the ability and interest in driving forward this ambition programme of work.
