Arab University Rankings 2022

The Times Higher Education Arab University Rankings 2022 reveal the strength of higher education across the Arab region. The methodology is based on that of our World University Rankings, but some adjustments have been made and some new metrics included. Universities are judged across all their core missions – teaching, research, society and international outlook.

Saudi Arabia’s King Abdulaziz University tops the table for the second year, with the kingdom claiming five of the top 10 places, including King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in second place.

Qatar University claims third place, while institutions in the United Arab Emirates and Egypt also feature in the top 10.

Overall, 169 universities across 15 countries are ranked. A further 48 institutions are listed with “reporter” status, where they provided data but were not eligible to receive a rank.
