The University of Bristol is located in the vibrant city of Bristol, southwest England. 

Founded in 1876, Bristol was the first higher education institution in England to admit men and women on an equal basis. 

Today, the university offers over 600 degree courses covering a wide range of subjects. It is home to 28 academic schools, divided into six faculties: arts, life sciences, science, engineering, social sciences and law, and health sciences. 

The university has strong connections with hundreds of employers, ranging from small businesses to worldwide organisations.

It was the first UK university to declare a climate emergency in 2019 and has ambitions to become carbon neutral by 2030. Bristol has won awards for its energy efficiency, transport planning and environmentally pioneering teaching. 

The university lays claim to 13 Nobel Laureates.

We are seeking an inspiring, innovative and commercially minded leader to drive forward the whole lifecycle of research, innovation and commercialisation of our academic activities across the University.  In this exciting role, you will work closely with a range of internal and external stakeholders to develop and execute Research, Innovation and Enterprise (RI&E) strategies which meet our commitment to deliver imaginative solutions to societal and industrial challenges. Job Description You will oversee the delivery of end-to-end support for research, knowledge exchange, enterprise and academic commercialisation activities of the university. You will be responsible for working with colleagues across our academic and Professional Services in a collegiate and innovative manner. You will proactively identify and drive new income streams for the University and maximise the societal and economic impact of our research. To support that improvement you will develop key metrics to ensure the ongoing development of the RI&E team and to maintain the University’s competitiveness across research, innovation and enterprise activities. You will proactively facilitate interactions with external organisations to enable and grow access to the University's academic expertise including research, consultancy and Continuing Professional Development (CPD). You will be educated to degree level and have relevant extensive experience of successfully operating at a senior level within a complex organisation, ideally within the HE sector. Description The Division of Science at New York University Abu Dhabi is inviting applications for a Post-Doctoral Associate position in the broad research areas of non-associative algebras and representation theory. Although all applicants with a background in these two areas will be considered, priority will be given to candidates who have prior experience with modular Lie superalgebras. Candidates must hold a PhD in mathematics or Theoretical Physics. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with cutting-edge research in Representation Theory or Non-Associative Algebras, and experience in doing research in representation theory or non-associative algebras. The Post-Doctoral Associate will be appointed for a duration of two years and will work under the supervision of Professor Sofiane Bouarroudj. Description The Center for Sand Hazards and Opportunities in Resilience, Energy, and Sustainability (SHORES) and the Division of Engineering, New York University Abu Dhabi, seek to recruit a Postdoctoral Associate to work on a fascinating project focused on the development machine-learning powered digital twin system for the structural performance of civil engineering structures. The project is a collaboration between multiple research groups led primarily by Professor Tarek Abdoun and Professor Mostafa Mobasher. It involves a diverse range of activities including: structural and geotechnical modeling, machine-learning model development, structural sensing and health monitoring, conducting physical experiments, and validation of computational models. Required Qualifications: A successful applicant must have a PhD in Civil Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, or Mechanical Engineering.
