Applications are invited for:- Department of Chemistry Research Assistant Professor (Ref: 250001X1) (Closing date: March 31, 2026) The Department of Chemistry at The Chinese University of Hong Kong invites applications for the position of Research Assistant Professor. Applicants should (i) possess a Ph.D. degree; (ii) have completed post-doctoral training; and (iii) demonstrate strong research experience in chemical biology or immunology. A solid publication record in internationally recognized journals is essential, along with a proven commitment to advancing research in immunotherapies. The appointee is expected to (a) work closely with Prof. XIA Jiang’s research group (https://chem.cuhk.edu.hk/people/academic-staff/xj/) to advance research in the area of immunotherapies; and (b) act as Principal Investigator to apply for funding from the Research Grants Council of Hong Kong and other external funding agencies annually. Appointment will normally be made on contract basis for up to three years, renewable subject to performance and mutual agreement. Salary and Benefits Salary will be highly competitive with qualifications and experience. In addition, the University offers a comprehensive fringe benefits package, including medical care and a 15% contract-end gratuity for appointments of two years or longer. Kao, a 2009 Nobel laureate in Physics, and offers full‐spectrum programs from Bachelor’s, research and taught Master’s degrees to PhD degree. Research Fields The research fields of the Department cover bioelectronics and medical devices, robotics and sensor technology, pattern recognition and artificial intelligence, signal, speech and image processing, data science and machine learning, antenna and propagation, radio frequency (RF) / microwave engineering and wireless communications, photonics and optical communications, quantum technology, solid-state electronics and VLSI, and power electronics and green technology. Requirements The Department has planned to recruit several positions and invites highly motivated and highly qualified candidates to apply for positions at the Professor, Associate Professor or Assistant Professor level. The applicants must have a PhD degree in EE or closely related fields. Preference will be given to those with expertise in integrated circuit design, RF/microwave engineering, quantum engineering or quantum information science. The successful applicants are expected to establish themselves as international leaders in their fields of research, to teach with passion at both undergraduate and graduate levels, and to take on service and administrative duties. The Faculty of Education of CUHK is an international centre for professional training and research in education.
