The University of Colorado Boulder (CU-Boulder) is a public research university in Boulder, Colorado, established in 1876.

Situated at the foot of the scenic Rocky Mountains, students of the university can enjoy incredible views from campus and take advantage of a range of outdoors pursuits (Boulder has 300 miles of bike routes, and a multitude of national parks and forests, as well as downhill and cross-country ski areas).

The university’s motto, from the original Greek, reads ‘Let Your Light Shine’.

Over the years, a number of Nobel laureates, astronauts and MacArthur Fellows have been linked with the university, either as students, researchers or members of the faculty. The American actor Robert Redford, who founded the internationally celebrated Sundance Film Festival, is an alumnus of the university.

The university has been ranked by Forbes as the 18th the most entrepreneurial university in the nation. According to the 2015 US News & World Report, the university also ranks within the top 10 in the fields of aerospace engineering, ceramics, environmental law, geology, physical chemistry and quantum physics.

CU-Boulder describes itself as having one of the most active college campuses in the US, with athletics and outdoors projects playing a central role in the student experience.

Its sports teams are known as ‘Buffaloes’ and the university is a member of the Presidents’ Athletic Conference.

As well as sports clubs, CU-Boulder is home to more than 300 organisations and clubs. Boulder is also served by a plethora of museums and galleries, such as the centrally located Colorado University Art Museum, and students are encouraged to ‘serve the greater good’ through volunteerism and civic engagement.

The university’s alumni network is in excess of 270,000 who comprise an online community and go by the name of the 'Forever Buffs Network.'

Description The Sustainable and Innovative Transport Demand (SIT-D) at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) is seeking a postdoctoral associate to conduct studies on the use of Immersive Virtual Reality to elicit users’ preferences for innovative transport systems. Applicants with a background in behavioral analysis and mathematical modelling are encouraged to apply. Terms of employment include competitive salary and benefits. Research in the SIT-D lab focuses on understanding and modelling consumers' behavior and decision process for sustainable transport modes and transport innovations. Research is interdisciplinary involving behavioral economics, psychology, neuroscience, computer science applied to the transport domain. Responsibilities of the position include building experiments to understand user’s decision process for innovation, collecting neurophysiological and other relevant data, programming and analysis routines, as well as quantitatively analyzing the data collected. Candidates must hold a PhD degree or equivalent in a field related to behavioral analysis and mathematical modelling and demonstrated experience with neurophysiological measurements, as well as data collections and field experiments. Description The Center for Behavioral Institutional Design, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit several postdoctoral researchers interested in exploring the origins of human behavioral diversity, developing empirically-informed models of human behavior, and designing innovative institutions and policies for promoting social welfare. C-BID offers a vibrant and stimulating research environment, with opportunities to engage in high-impact projects and collaborations. Postdoctoral researchers join an active international community of scholars and fellow postdocs and benefit from a world-class seminar series. The Center also hosts numerous workshops, conferences, and other academic events that foster collaboration, idea exchange, and visibility, providing an exceptional platform for advancing researchers’ work and academic careers. The ideal candidate is highly ambitious, well-trained, self-motivated, hard-working, equally capable of working alone and as part of a team, and holds a PhD in economics or a related field. The position requires expertise in either experimental, empirical, or theoretical methods or, ideally, a combination of these methods. Excellent communication skills in English, the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams, and scientific creativity are essential.
