The Times Higher Education University Impact Rankings are the only global performance tables that assess universities against the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We use carefully calibrated indicators to provide comprehensive and balanced comparisons across three broad areas: research, outreach, and stewardship.
This table on SDG 11 – sustainable cities and communities measures universities’ research on sustainability, their role as custodians of arts and heritage and their internal approaches to sustainability.
The list includes almost 300 universities from 62 countries.
The metrics were developed in partnership with Vertigo Ventures.
The list is led by South Korea’s Kyung Hee University, while New Zealand’s Auckland University of Technology and Canada’s University of British Columbia complete the top three.
Japan is the most-represented nation in the table with 30 institutions, followed by Russia with 22 and the US with 22.
