The Times Higher Education University Impact Rankings are the only global performance tables that assess universities against the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We use carefully calibrated indicators to provide comprehensive and balanced comparisons across three broad areas: research, outreach, and stewardship.
This table on SDG 13 – climate action measures universities’ research on climate change, their use of energy and their preparations for dealing with the consequences of climate change.
The list includes more than 250 universities from 58 countries.
The metrics were developed in partnership with Vertigo Ventures.
The list is led by Canada’s University of British Columbia, while the US’ University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and University at Buffalo complete the top three.
Japan is the most-represented nation in the table with 25 institutions, followed by the UK with 17 and the US with 16.
