The vision of having self-learning computers to perform tasks they are better at than humans is increasingly a reality. At HKUST, we support and facilitate robotics-related research, development, and education. With a focus on autonomous systems and robotics research, it integrates innovations in sensors, devices, systems, networks, neurosciences, data analytics and machine learning into a wide range of applications that aim to create societal impact. It also nurtures a network of industry partners, designs entrepreneurship programs, and drives knowledge dissemination.

New Voices in Translation Studies journal, produced by the International Association for Translation and Intercultural Studies (IATIS) in conjunction with Chalermprakiat Center of Translation and Interpretation, Faculty of Arts, Chulalongkorn University, has been ranked among the top 10% (Tier 1) of journals with the highest SJR citation value, at 28^th out of 982 journals in the Literature and Literary Theory category, and 274^th out of 1,159 journals, or in Quartile 1, in the Linguistics and Language category, on the Scopus/SJR database.

Prof. Dr. Chakkaphan Sutthirat, Vice President for Research Affairs, Chulalongkorn University, clarifies that the Research University That Teaches policy was born out of Chulalongkorn University’s objective to incorporate research and innovation into the pedagogy in order to create Future Leaders, generate Impactful Research and Innovation, and support Sustainability. Hence, the knowledge from impactful research and innovation will be part of the teaching in the degree programs, non-degree programs, and lifelong learning courses.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Piyachart Phiromswad, Assistant Director for Academic Affairs, Director of the Ph.D. program and a faculty member in Finance at Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration of Chulalongkorn University, was one of the speakers for TED2023 Session 3: “Leaping boldly into new global realities” on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at the Vancouver Convention Centre, Vancouver, BC, Canada. Six other speakers spoke at the session, including Jennifer D. Sciubba, Chip Conley, Ashif Shaikh, Barbara F. Walter, Keyu Jin and Ian Bremmer. 

The Assistive Technology and Medical Devices Research Center (A-MED), a division under the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, together with the Faculty of Dentistry, Chulalongkorn University, have unveiled an innovative toothpaste prototype with nano-hydroxyapatite that helps to replenish minerals and strengthen tooth enamel. 

Chulalongkorn University’s Indian Studies Center serves as a hub of connection and cooperation between Indians and Thais. It is also a storehouse of knowledge and information about India, including ancient India, contemporary India, and new India in different dimensions, which encourages Thai people to adjust their views of India, reduce prejudices, and focus on looking for clear opportunities to form collaboration with the “New India.”

The School of Agricultural Resources, Chulalongkorn University, organized the opening ceremony of the “Innovation Center for Research and Development of Sustainable Thai Cocoa: ISTC” on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at Room 702, Chaloem Rajakumari 60th Anniversary Building (Chamchuri 10 Building), Chulalongkorn University. Researchers of the Biochemistry Unit, Faculty of Veterinary Science, Chulalongkorn University (CUVET) have developed “Dust Mites Repellent Herbal Spray” and “Pet Fragrance Spray from Mangosteen Peel Extract” by applying nanotechnology to pet products to enhance their potency. Certifiably safe, both products are now available through a CUVET startup company.
