Established in 1888 as a medical school at Thailand’s first hospital, Mahidol University is now one of the country’s top academic and research institutions. In 1943 it became the University of Medical Sciences, and in 1969 it was renamed as Mahidol University. For over 130 years, Mahidol University has been guided by the work and life of our namesake, H.R.H. Prince Mahidol of Songkla, shown through his educational philosophy “True success is not in the learning but in its application to benefit of mankind”. Innovative Education: We aim for our students to develop the soft and hard skills they need to overcome global challenges, explore new opportunities, and grow as globally competent citizens. Our main Salaya Campus, on the outskirts of Bangkok, has a wide range of educational, scientific, sports, and social facilities across 520 acres with gardens, lakes, and lawns.

Healthcare Services

As Thailand’s top healthcare provider, operating 5 hospitals, treating over 6 million outpatients each year, and educating approximately 20% of newly qualified doctors, we understand our responsibility in supporting healthcare development in Thailand and across the region. As a part of this, our medical and dental faculties regularly undertake clinical outreach projects, providing check-ups and treatments in rural areas. Ratchasuda College, Mahidol University, has a focus on Special Educational Needs (SEN), both in supporting persons with disabilities in furthering their education, and in training educators to work with SEN children in Thailand’s primary and secondary education system.

Global Problems, Local Solutions

Our institutes take leading roles in addressing some of the key social issues in the Asia-Pacific Region, some of their projects include:

  • Supporting rural communities in understanding the needs of children with developmental disabilities
  • Providing workshops to share knowledge on best practices for primary health care

Knowledge Sharing

Mahidol Channel, our terrestrial and online TV channel, allows us to share knowledge with the community through edutainment and children’s programming. The University of Calgary, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (UCVM) is pleased to announce the opening of one (1), or possibly two (2), full-time academic positions (Teaching stream) in Veterinary Clinical Pathology. Depending on qualifications and career track expectations, the appointments will be made at the rank of Assistant Professor (tenure track) or Associate Professor (with tenure) in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. The anticipated start date June 1, 2026 or a mutually agreed upon date. Position requirements, qualifications, skills and achievements required for the appointment
Qualifications include a DVM (or equivalent), and board certification (DACVP and/or Dipl. ECVP) is preferred but board eligible ACVP or ECVP residency-trained candidates will be considered. The candidate must be eligible for licensure in the Province of Alberta.  Appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor Teaching requires evidence or promise of teaching effectiveness or competency in teaching and learning, an awareness of how to apply scholarly approaches to teaching and learning practices, participation in reflective practice, and professional learning activities related to teaching and learning. Engagement in the research and scholarship required to maintain currency in pedagogy is required. Appointment to the rank of Associate Professor Teaching requires evidence of teaching effectiveness, a demonstrated ability to apply scholarly approaches to teaching and learning and student engagement, to design student learning experiences and assessment strategies. Continuous development of innovative teaching and that supports student learning, ability to create respectful and inclusive learning environments is required. Teaching will be a significant component of the expected distribution of effort and will include didactic, clinical and professional identity laboratories, and 4th year (clinical year) rotation teaching in the DVM program. UCVM employs a distributed veterinary teaching hospital model. Clinical duties including student rotation teaching will occur in partner specialty practices and other practice settings. Participation in collaborative student or intern-led clinical research is desired. The remainder of distribution of effort will be divided for university service engagements (such as course or rotation coordination, committee work and/or scholarly activity). UCVM's AVMA accredited DVM program provides a comprehensive general veterinary education to approximately 50 students per year, with an increased expansion to 100 students this fall 2026 semester. UCVM is a research-intensive faculty with expanding research, graduate education, and advanced clinical trainee programs. Our goal is to develop a novel solar-driven photothermocatalytic process to efficiently destroy harmful volatile organic compounds (VOCs), like toluene, at their source in industrial effluents. By integrating advanced materials synthesis with a predictive Artificial Intelligence (AI) platform, we will accelerate the discovery of efficient and sustainable solutions for environmental remediation. We are seeking a highly motivated and creative Postdoctoral Researcher to play a foundational role in this pioneering 18-month project at the Center for Materials Innovation and Technology (CMIT) at VinUniversity. A Unique Opportunity to Build and Lead This is not a typical postdoctoral position in a long-established laboratory. As the first postdoctoral researcher in a newly forming research group, you will have the unique and exciting opportunity to help build our lab from the ground up. You will be instrumental in designing, commissioning, and shaping the core experimental facilities and research direction. This role is ideal for a passionate, independent researcher who is eager to take on significant responsibility, solve real-world challenges, and help establish a lasting legacy of cutting-edge environmental research at VinUniversity. Material Characterization: Rigorously characterize the physicochemical properties of the synthesized materials using various advanced techniques. Experimental Campaign & Data Generation: Conduct systematic, high-fidelity experiments to evaluate catalyst performance under industrially relevant conditions. Data Analysis and Dissemination: Analyze experimental data and take a leading role in preparing high-impact manuscripts, patent applications, and conference presentations. Mentorship: Assist in mentoring undergraduate and graduate students involved in the project. Candidate Profile: A Ph.D. in Materials Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a closely related discipline is required. A strong track record of high-quality publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals. Demonstrated hands-on experience in materials synthesis and characterization. Prior experience with gas-phase systems (e.g., gas-phase catalytic reactions, adsorption, or reactor design) is strongly encouraged and will be highly valued. Excellent problem-solving skills, independence, and a proactive, hands-on approach to research.
