An independent study has found that a university in Aberdeen contributes £300 million to the Scottish economy each year. Robert Gordon University achieved this not only by employing staff, bringing in student spending and through capital projects, but also by building strong links with local businesses and the public sector, the report by Biggar Economics says. The high proportion of Robert Gordon students undertaking local work placements and healthcare research is noted.
