Royal Holloway/Lancaster - Driven to distraction

The potential dangers of "sat-navs" are being studied by a team of psychologists at Royal Holloway, University of London and spatial scientists at Lancaster University. Although the use of mobile phones by drivers has been banned, the quick spread of sat-nav technology has received very little attention, the researchers said. Funding has been secured to measure the attention and memory demands that sat-navs place on drivers.
