The Government College Women University Faisalabad began life as an intermediate college in 1934, becoming a Degree College in 1944, with postgraduate disciplines introduced in 1985. It was granted university status in 2013. The univeristy has two campuses, which are attended by more than 8,000 students. There are PhD programs in seven disciplines, MS/M.Phil programmes in 16 disciplines, master level programmes in 20 disciplines, and bachelor programmes in 25 disciplines. There are four faculties: the faculty of science and technology, faculty of arts and social sciences, faculty of management and administrative science, and faculty of Islamic and Oriental learning. The mission of the Government College Women University Faisalabad is to provide students an enabling environment where dialogue is encouraged and ideas envisioned. On campus, there is a large library, hostel facility, canteen and photocopier shop, as well as a transport service made just for students. It has a host of thriving student societies, such as the blood donor society, the business society and debating and quiz society among others. The university aims to constantly introduce and uphold programmes which are specific to the needs of women, their employability and entrepreneurship. Economically marginalised students are supported through need-based and merit-based scholarships. The Government College Women University Faisalabad is located in Faisalabad, in the province of the Punjab, which is known for its yarn and textile production. Faisalabad is also the biggest industrial hub of Pakistan and has over seven million residents. There’s an international airport, dry port, hospitals and a blend of urban meets rural living.

About EPrints Services As a result of our continued success, we are hiring into a Software Engineering / Customer Support role. We primarily develop and maintain Web-based repository services for a wide variety of both education and commercial organisations all over the World. At our core is an open source repository platform, EPrints, which provides a flexible way to configure operations concerning data capture, structure and presentation, and a range of services that allow content to be accessed in a variety of ways. We support our many customers by maintaining our own Linux based virtual hosting infrastructure. We are a well established small Enterprise team based in the School of Electronics and Computer Science at the University of Southampton. About You As part of the team, you will take responsibility for the development and support of customer focused projects, for both EPrints systems and more varied engineering activities. These typically relate to open access, open data, digital education, content management and systems integrations. All projects require some level of design, programming, testing, project management, and customer support. It is essential you have: Proven industrial experience and / or  PhD or equivalent professional qualifications and experience in Computer Science or related discipline. In addition, some knowledge of Linux as well as Web relevant technologies, for example XML, SQL, JavaScript and CSS is required. Experience in high level programming languages such as Python, PHP or Perl will be highly desirable. Job Description: The International Water Research Institute (IWRI) at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow position in desalination and water treatment, within the framework of an applied research project. We are seeking highly motivated candidates with demonstrated expertise in seawater desalination pretreatment, with a particular emphasis on the Membrane-Based Processes. The successful candidate will contribute to the development, optimization, and scale-up of advanced pretreatment solutions for seawater desalination. The selected candidate will join a dynamic, collaborative, and interdisciplinary research environment, characterized by a strong tradition of integrating fundamental research with applied engineering to deliver impactful, real-world solutions to pressing water challenges. Key Duties: The successful candidate will be responsible for: Seawater monitoring and characterization: Planning and conducting periodic sampling campaigns of raw seawater, and monitoring its physicochemical and biological quality. Data analysis and modeling: Processing and analyzing seawater quality data and developing statistical and mathematical models to correlate feed-water characteristics with pretreatment performance. System design and laboratory experimentation: Designing, assembling, and operating a lab-scale Membrane-Based system for seawater pretreatment, including system configuration, optimization, and performance validation. Operation and maintenance protocol development: Developing and implementing a comprehensive operation and maintenance (O&M) protocol to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of Membrane-Based system. Pilot-scale testing and field deployment: Organizing and conducting field missions and pilot-scale trials to assess the efficiency, robustness, and operational behavior of the Membrane-Based pretreatment process under real seawater conditions. Performance assessment and process optimization: Collecting and interpreting operational data, diagnosing performance limitations or fouling issues, and proposing data-driven corrective actions and process improvements. Reporting and knowledge transfer: Preparing high-quality technical reports, datasets, presentations, and documentation for internal team. Scientific dissemination: Contributing to peer-reviewed scientific publications and presenting research outcomes at national and international conferences. Qualifications & Requirements: PhD in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Water-Process Engineering, Membrane Materials and Processes, or a closely related discipline. Relevant experience in desalination and/or filtration systems, at laboratory, pilot, or industrial scale. A strong background in ceramic membrane materials and processes is a significant advantage. Mandatory hands-on experience with water treatment processes. Experience in water quality analysis for evaluating and monitoring the performance of water treatment systems.
