Founded in 1785, the University of Georgia (UGA) is a land and sea grant university, and the first state-chartered university in America. Based in Athens, Georgia, and roughly 60 miles northeast of state capital Atlanta’s downtown, UGA lays claim to being the birthplace of the American system of public higher education.

UGA is made up of 17 academic schools and colleges, the first of which to be established was the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences in 1801, and the most recent being the College of Engineering, in 2012.

The Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication is home to the Peabody Awards programme, which is widely considered to be one of the leading awards in electronic media.

UGA has a student enrolment of around 36,000, the majority of which is made up by around 27,500 undergraduate students and the remainder by 8,500 graduates.

The university offers 25 baccalaureate degrees in over140 fields, 34 masters in 130 fields, specialist education degrees in 18 fields, four doctoral degrees in 98 areas, and professional degrees in law, pharmacy and veterinary medicine.

Additionally, UGA offers in excess of 170 study abroad and exchange programmes. It also has three international residential centres based in Oxford (England), Cortana (Italy) and in Costa Rica.

UGA is home to many of the state’s most notable landmarks and places of interest, including the Georgia State Botanical Garden, the Museum of Art, the Museum of Natural History, and the Georgia Writer’s Hall of Fame.

The university has an annual budget of nearly $1.5 billion, roughly 27 per cent of which is provided by the state of Georgia. Further to that, it has an intellectual property income of $6.6 million and research spending that is externally funded amounting to around $203 million.

It has an active student body and is home to more than 600 registered student organisations, including 32 fraternities and 26 sororities.

Its alumni network numbers around 300,000, and many of its students have been Rhodes Scholars.

Description The Division of Science at New York University Abu Dhabi is inviting applications for a Post-Doctoral Associate position in the broad research areas of non-associative algebras and representation theory. Although all applicants with a background in these two areas will be considered, priority will be given to candidates who have prior experience with modular Lie superalgebras. Candidates must hold a PhD in mathematics or Theoretical Physics. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with cutting-edge research in Representation Theory or Non-Associative Algebras, and experience in doing research in representation theory or non-associative algebras. The Post-Doctoral Associate will be appointed for a duration of two years and will work under the supervision of Professor Sofiane Bouarroudj. The terms of employment are very competitive and include housing and educational subsidies for children. Job Purpose At SIT's Professional Officers Division, we bring our rich industry experience and technical skills into our work, creating a better physical environment where learning and innovation take place. We work with teaching programmes and innovation projects to improve the skills of our students and to strengthen & energise our industry and the wider community. A Professional Officer has a combination of job responsibilities relating to the following: participate in and manage innovation projects, manage digital technology related resources, and mentor & facilitate student learning. The Centre for Digital Enablement (CoDE) drives the initiatives to elevate digital competencies for academic staff and students within SIT. It works with various stakeholders, both internal and external, in upskilling digital literacy across the organization through literacy programmes and digital innovation projects in relation to the Digital Learning Spaces (DLS). For this role, you will spearhead the various cybersecurity enablement programmes in SIT, manage the cybersecurity related resources and initiatives within CoDE, and lead cybersecurity projects within SIT and with industry partners to support teaching and learning objectives. You will also be responsible for developing and delivering digital literacy courses to undergraduate students and academic staff as part of the institutional drive to ensure our graduates are ready for a highly digitally-enabled workforce. Additionally, you’ll be required to mentor and facilitate student learning by participating in and managing student projects. Key Responsibilities Cybersecurity Enablement Programmes Develop and own the Cybersecurity Competency Roadmap, providing guidance for SIT undergraduate students and academic staff in developing their cybersecurity competencies. Lead and oversee a range of cybersecurity enablement programmes to facilitate the growth of information security skills among SIT undergraduate students and academic staff. Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in cybersecurity, ensuring the continued relevancy and currency of the enablement programmes and Cybersecurity Competency Roadmap. Cybersecurity Projects Drive the adoption of sound information security practices across all CoDE projects. Collaborate with industry partners, faculty, Professional Officers and other stakeholders to conduct applied research in cybersecurity related technologies. Teaching & Student Mentorship Develop and deliver digital skills literacy related courses or workshops to undergraduate students and staff. This includes development of learning contents and activities, providing consultations on digital skills/technology related queries, and assessment and grading of students’ work. Mentor and facilitate student learning by participating in and managing student projects. Any other matters as directed by Director/Deputy Director of CoDE. Job Requirements A good degree in Computer Science or a related field. Masters, PhD and/or relevant professional certifications would be advantageous. 10+ years of working experience, including at least 5 in cybersecurity related fields. Proven experience in developing and deploying secure enterprise software solutions. Good programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, C++, JavaScript, etc. Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Possess strong supervisory and project management skills. Good interpersonal skills and ability to work independently, as well as within a team, to ensure that the project can meet the milestones adhering to the stipulated timeline. Description The newly established NYUAD Wireless Research Center at New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a Post-Doctoral Associate (PDA) to engage in cutting-edge research on the physical layer design of next-generation wireless communication systems, with a primary focus on 6G technologies. The research will particularly emphasize spectrum candidates beyond the current 5G NR range, including FR3 (7–24 GHz) and the THz band (100 GHz and above). The PDA will be jointly supervised by Qurrat-Ul-Ain Nadeem, Marwa Chafii and Murat Uysal. Principal Responsibilities The PDA will conduct research on the design and development of next-generation wireless communication systems. Specific topics include, but are not limited to, waveform design for the THz spectrum under hardware constraints, beamforming techniques for FR3 and THz bands, reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS), and integrated sensing and communications (ISAC). The research methodology will involve the development of mathematical models for signal transmission and reception, derivation of fundamental performance limits, algorithmic-level system design, and performance evaluation through computer simulations and/or experimental validation. The PDA is expected to actively disseminate results through publications in high-impact journals and presentations at leading international conferences. The PDA is expected to contribute to the intellectual property development through patent filings, as well as participating in standardization efforts relevant to wireless technologies, in coordination with academic and industrial collaborators. Qualifications Applicants must hold a PhD degree in electrical/electronics engineering, telecommunications or related field. Other requirements include:  Strong background in communication theory, signal processing, and wireless communications  Proven track record of publications in relevant IEEE journals and conferences  Extensive experience in physical layer algorithm design and performance analysis In addition to the above qualifications, it is highly desirable that the candidate has prior research experience in one or more of the following research topics:  Waveform design for different RF bands (FR3, MMW, sub-THz/THz)  Analog/digital/hybrid beamforming Integrated sensing and communication  Reconfigurable intelligent surfaces  Hardware-constrained signal processing for wireless communications The candidates will be considered until the position is filled.
