Comillas Pontifical University is a private Catholic university located in Madrid, Spain. Known in Spanish as Universidad Pontificia Comillas, the institution is run by the Society of Jesus. The university was originally founded in 1890 by Pope Leo XIII. Fourteen years later, Pope Pius X granted the institution the power to award academic degrees in canon law, theology, and philosophy. Originally located in Comillas, Cantabria, the university moved to the Spanish capital in 1969. After the move, two other Madrid institutions run by the Society of Jesus - the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería (ICAI) and the Instituto Católico de Administración y Dirección de Empresas (ICADE) - were integrated into the university. As a result, the university is sometimes referred to as Universidad Pontificia Comillas ICAI-ICADE. In its mission statement, Comillas Pontifical University says that as a Catholic university, it "aims...to serve as an institutional bridge between Christian ideals, as expressed in the Gospels, and all forms of cultural expression in order to promote dialogue and exchange”. The university “welcomes and encourages feats of human spirit in the field of science, technical progress and arts, seeking to be a leavening force on culture, human value, life and society, while contributing to the message of Jesus Christ,” adds. Famous alumni of the Comillas Pontifical University include Diego López Garrido, a former Spanish undersecretary for European affairs; José Bono, former prime minister of the Castilla La Mancha Regional Government; Enrique Barón, former president of the European Parliament; and Ignacio J. Pérez Arriaga, a professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Description NYU Abu Dhabi is currently inviting applications for a full-time contract faculty position in the Interactive Media program to begin potentially as early as Fall 2026. The position is a renewable appointment based on curricular demand and performance. The Interactive Media program is a Bachelor of Arts major at NYUAD that combines art, interaction design, communications, computer science, engineering, and critique. While the program is formally housed in the University’s Arts and Humanities Division, it is a multidisciplinary major and has broad reach across the University. The mission of the program is to foster the creative use of emerging technologies for research, communication, and expression, while advancing a deep engagement with theoretical frameworks and critical discourse in Interactive Media. The program emphasizes an interdisciplinary approach that connects artistic practice with intellectual inquiry and social responsibility.  Professors of Practice have professional, industry, or public sector experience and bring those qualifications to bear in their teaching. Appointees must be experienced or highly knowledgeable in their particular fields and, where relevant, have had experience in curriculum development. They are principally engaged in teaching and are also expected to remain active in professional, research or creative activities. We are looking for a faculty member who: Possesses an understanding of the aesthetic, cultural, social, political, critical, and ethical implications of interactive media and emerging technologies, and fosters an awareness of how these technologies shape and are shaped by societal contexts through historic and contemporary perspectives. Can engage students in developing a conceptual foundation for interactive media, integrating critical texts, reflective analysis, and creative practices that combine theoretical understanding with hands-on experimentation. Can engage students with a wide range of artists, scholars and practitioners whose work has shaped the field of interactive media fostering a nuanced understanding of its evolution and future directions Can support students in cultivating a critical vocabulary to articulate and analyze interactive media concepts, theories and projects, both in writing and discussion. Can engage students in creative practice, storytelling through various forms of media, designing rich user experiences, and exploring new modes of human-computer interactions. Has demonstrated experience in exhibiting works and/or presenting \at festivals and conferences, with the ability to teach and support students in developing and showcasing their own work in similar professional contexts. The Interactive Media program is integrated into the NYUAD liberal arts experience and is interested in faculty who consider teaching an extension of their research. Inherent to the program’s values is an agility with regard to interactive media and its rapid evolution, and thus we welcome faculty who will contribute to the development of the curriculum, specifically in the area of AI. Applicants who can teach the following are encouraged to apply: Theoretical courses that explore concepts, questions, and components that encompass interactive media as it relates to creative expression and critical engagement. Foundation courses that survey various technologies including web development, sound, 2D and 3D design, XR, digital imaging, video, effects and animation, and digital fabrication. Intermediate and advanced electives within the program’s three electives’ clusters: Media and Design Thinking, Computational Media, and Physical Computing Senior capstone seminar and senior capstone project work Across the program, Interactive Media faculty focus on experimentation and production both inside and outside of the classroom. Our approach to learning relies more on collaboration rather than competition so as to cultivate an accessible environment in which playful exploration, critical analysis, risk-taking, and failure can freely occur. While our foundation classes emphasize reading and writing, they are run in a workshop-like environment facilitating active learning and encouraging discussion of concept, content, technique and impact. Engaging with students beyond class time in the program's lab space through project assistance, personal direction, and community activities is key. Job Purpose: The Professional Officers Division (POD) houses a centralized pool of academic staff under the Professional Officers scheme. Professional Officers come with specialised and deep technical skills acquired through extensive industry experience. They form the talent pool which brings a much-needed industry perspective to student learning. They facilitate applied learning and applied research in SIT, complementing the academic expertise of the faculty to bring industry practices and applications into the curriculum. Professional Officers leverage on their industry experiences to create authentic learning environments, where discovery and innovation take place. They act as coaches and mentors to students during practical learning activities such as laboratory sessions, Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Professional Officers could also lead or work with faculty on industry innovation projects to provide solutions to the industry. In addition to their role in applied learning and applied research, Professional Officers manage the centralised laboratory facilities and resources in SIT. With Technical Officers, laboratory safety professionals, and administrators in POD, they jointly develop central policies and processes for the safe and seamless operation of laboratories in SIT. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and deliver Food Technology and related laboratory sessions, practice modules, and applied learning activities. Mentor and guide students in Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Lead and execute innovation and applied research projects in collaboration with industry partners. Manage, maintain, and optimize laboratory facilities and equipment to support teaching, research, and industry projects. Undertake leadership or coordinator roles, as assigned by the Team Lead, in support of the university’s strategic goals. Uphold and enforce safety standards and practices in all laboratory operations. Job Requirements A good degree in Food Science and Technology or related disciplines such as Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or Chemical Engineering. Master’s degree / PhD would be advantageous. At least 10 years of relevant industry experience with proven expertise in food product development and innovation, covering areas such as R&D, process scale-up, and regulatory compliance. Involvement in market introduction and commercialization of food products will be a strong advantage. Proven track record in working with industry partners, academia, or research institutes to drive food innovation. Experience contributing to or supporting industry or research funding projects and translating outcomes into practical applications is desired. Strong grounding in at least two or more food science domains such as food chemistry, food microbiology, food processing, sensory science, or food engineering. Willingness and ability to expand into adjacent domains as part of role development. Ability to design and deliver teaching and training materials for undergraduate and/or postgraduate modules, with emphasis on practical application. Experience in hands-on lab work, pilot plant operations, or technical training is desirable. While a formal teaching background is not mandatory, the candidate is expected to develop and acquire relevant teaching competencies as part of the role requirements. Proficient in analytical techniques for food characterization, e.g., chromatography, spectroscopy, rheology, texture analysis, or sensory profiling. Certification in food safety or quality management is advantageous.

Description The Center of Astrophysics and Space Science, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a Junior Research Scientist to work with the Mars Research Group to support scientific investigations of the Martian atmosphere and surface using data from the Emirates Mars Mission (EMM) “Hope” probe. The position contributes to ongoing research, data analysis, simulation efforts, and dissemination of scientific results from Hope observations. The funding for this position is provided by the UAE Space Agency. The successful applicant will; Analyze Emirates Mars Mission (Hope) data: Conduct detailed analysis of atmospheric and surface observations collected by the UAE’s Hope probe to support scientific goals of understanding Martian atmospheric and surface processes. Assist with analysis of additional Mars mission datasets: Examine and interpret complementary data from other Mars missions to strengthen current models and provide comparative insights that enhance research conclusions from Hope observations. Develop Machine Learning methods and run numerical simulations on NYUAD’s High-Performance Computing (HPC) system. Support preparation of scientific manuscripts and presentations: Assist in drafting reports, papers, and conference materials to communicate research findings to the global scientific community. A candidate with a Master’s degree is preferred; however, the minimum requirement is a Bachelor’s degree in physics, computer science, or a related discipline. The role requires strong programming skills in Python, competency in data analysis and scientific computing, and the ability to work with large datasets.
