New videoconferencing resources have brought the joys - and some of the problems - of globalisation to De Montfort University.
A series of lectures by young scientists, as part of the distance- learning brewing course, went down well in the United Kingdom, United States and South Africa, where they were followed by buffet lunches and dinners.
They proved harder to stomach in Australia, however, where they took place at 5.30am.
