Khon Kaen University is regarded as the one of Thailand’s top research universities.

Founded in 1964 near the city of Khon Kaen, it was initially set up as an institute of technology  to further the study of engineering and agriculture and was later named the University of North East Thailand.

It renamed Khon Kaen University – known as KKU – and was appointed one of Thailand’s nine national research universities in 2010, in addition to its work as a major educational centre in the Mekong region.

With more than 40,000 students, including 10,000 postgraduates and 500 overseas students, across around 350 study programmes on its main campus, KKU also has around 2,200 academic staff and 8,500 support staff.

One of KKU’s main strategic goals is to be recognized both internationally and regionally as a leading university in research.

Among the areas in which outstanding research takes place at KKU is in medicine, public Health and tropical medicine, with its Tropical Disease Research Laboratory gaining widespread acclaim.

It also excels in its historic research strength of agriculture, with studies focusing on tropical farming systems in both animal and plant science. Work on the bio-diversity in the Mekong River basin, as well as business and tourism in this area, has also been recognised.

In line with the goal to develop the university’s research, it has now has a total of 25 research centres of excellence and research specialist groups, based around six research themes: health problems, food products and food for health, water management, improving literacy and numeracy, biofuels and advanced materials.

In addition, the university has partnerships with more than 160 national and international research organizations from 25 countries.

There are also exchange programs for KKU students, personnel, provided with full equipment, knowledge, labs and other kinds of bodies of knowledge.

Applicants should possess a PhD degree in Biomedical Sciences, Biochemistry, Chemistry or a related discipline. They should have strong background and research experience in at least one of the following areas: (1) Chemical biology; (2) Anticancer drug research; (3) Cancer biology; (4) Mass spectrometry; (5) Proteomics. They should be self-motivated, responsible and able to work independently as well as in a team. The appointee will work on interdisciplinary projects related to the development of novel therapeutic agents targeting cancer-related proteins for therapy. In particular, the appointee will utilize chemoproteomics to discover new druggable hotspots in liver cancer, which can facilitate the development of novel anticancer therapeutics. The appointee will have a good opportunity to learn and perform state-of-the-art research for drug target identification and drug development. About the role We are looking to recruit a Programme Officer to join our team. The Programme Officer is responsible for essential work contributing to the delivery of our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. They will support students and academic staff as the first point of contact for queries, whether face-to-face, via phone or electronic media. Our postgraduate education pathways (Remote Health Practice program), provides workforce development through Indigenous health and clinical skills training, and we have a community driven research program led by researchers committed to improving health outcomes. About the Role The Senior Lecturer in Remote Medicine will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality teaching and learning within the Northern Territory Medical Program (NTMP). This position focuses on designing and implementing remote health experiences, supervising medical students in primary care settings, and fostering innovative teaching practices. Drawing on extensive clinical expertise, the role also involves mentoring clinical supervisors, developing curricula, and building partnerships to enhance student success and graduate employability. Lead the design, delivery, and evaluation of Remote Medicine teaching across NTMP, including clinical skills training and simulation. Supervise and assess Year 3 and 4 medical students and electives during extended remote placements. Contribute to curriculum development, accreditation processes, and continuous quality improvement of courses. Build and maintain partnerships with health services and stakeholders to support work-integrated learning and remote health initiatives. About You You are an experienced medical educator with a passion for remote health and a commitment to innovative teaching.
