Description The Center for Sand Hazards and Opportunities in Resilience, Energy, and Sustainability (SHORES) and the Division of Engineering, New York University Abu Dhabi, seek to recruit a Postdoctoral Associate to work on a fascinating project focused on the development machine-learning powered digital twin system for the structural performance of civil engineering structures. The project is a collaboration between multiple research groups led primarily by Professor Tarek Abdoun and Professor Mostafa Mobasher. It involves a diverse range of activities including: structural and geotechnical modeling, machine-learning model development, structural sensing and health monitoring, conducting physical experiments, and validation of computational models. Required Qualifications: A successful applicant must have a PhD in Civil Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, or Mechanical Engineering. Applicants are expected to demonstrate research experience in the fields of structural modeling and machine-learning model development. Description The Mathematics Program in the Science Division, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a post-doctoral associate to work on one or more of the following topics: Mathematical Physics, Spectral Theory, Quantum Chaos, Large Graphs and Quantum Walks. Related areas such as Quantum Information can also be considered. This position is offered through the research funds of Mostafa Sabri. The Mathematics Program at NYUAD is quickly expanding, the candidate will find many international experts and postdocs with whom to interact. Weekly seminars are in place across the various research areas represented at NYUAD. The successful applicant will also receive a mobility credit to participate in conferences. Applicants must have a PhD in Mathematics, with a strong background in one of the advertised topics, as well as an excellent academic record. Candidates with PhDs in Physics or Computer Science may also be considered if they willing to collaborate with mathematicians on these topics. Description The theoretical physics group in the Science Division of New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit an Associate Research Scientist to work on theoretical cosmology including string cosmology and the study of fundamental sources of gravitational waves. The successful applicant will drive independent research on the main open questions facing theoretical cosmology and support research of young postdoctoral fellows and graduate students. The candidate will work in a multidisciplinary environment consisting of PhD-level scientists, graduate students and undergraduate students. Applicants must have at least 5 years of research experience after a PhD in theoretical physics and a proven solid record of publications and conference presentations in the field.
