Wellcome Trust

To promote new and existing collaborations between research groups in the UK or Republic of Ireland and those based in developing countries, or in restructuring countries of Central and Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union, on the other. This scheme aims to encourage cooperating laboratories to pool resources by establishing closer links between workers engaged in related fields of research. Proposals may be in any branch of the basic or clinical sciences related to human and veterinary medicine with the exception of cancer, for which Trust support is restricted.
