Probably the world's most famous coffee pot has just percolated its last. Ten years ago, researchers at the University of Cambridge trained a camera on their coffee pot to ensure that those in other rooms knew if enough was left for a cup. The pot later became the first web-cam and cult viewing across the world and has now been auctioned to a German online news service for £3,350. The money will go towards better coffee facilities for the research team.
