University status delay

The UHI Millennium Institute's hopes of becoming a University of the Highlands and Islands in 2007 appear to have been dashed. UHI principal Bob Cormack said that while the Quality Assurance Agency found that UHI's programmes were of high quality, it had decided that more time was needed to strengthen the proposed university's structures.
