Two scholarships have been launched to help improve a university's research links with the US. The Fulbright Commission is to fund two US academics to spend between three and eight months at the University of York every year. One of the scholarships, which are worth as much as £20,000 each, is open to academics from any field, while the second focuses specifically on the history of art. Alastair Fitter, pro vice-chancellor for research at York, said: "These scholarships are an example of our strong commitment to strengthening our international links."
