University of York - Credit rating

The impact of cheap and easily available credit on personal debt in the UK is to be analysed by researchers at the University of York. The project, led by a team in the department of sociology, will also assess the effect that lax lending controls have had on the economy. Researchers will conduct confidential interviews with people struggling with all types of debt to establish the reasons for their financial situation and the available options for relief.
