Chefs from the University of York have won two gold medals in a national culinary competition. The York team served up a three-course meal to defeat competition from 13 rivals to win the medals at the 2010 University Caterers Organisation's Competitions and Training Awards. The university's director of commercial services, Jon Greenwood, attributed the results to the "training and development culture" at York. The university also won bronze in a separate competition, the Tilda Chef of the Year Award.
