An academic will use his stint on the fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square this week to lecture on how engineering is changing the world. As part of Antony Gormley's art project, John Robinson, head of the department of electronics at the University of York, also plans brief discursions into other disciplines, including psychology, music and art. "I am used to standing up and talking in front of large groups of people, but not in such an unusual and challenging venue," he said.
