An outreach programme aimed at getting students from families with no experience of higher education to undertake degrees has produced its first graduates. Ten students who were part of the University of Sheffield's Professions Progression Partnership scheme graduated last month in subjects ranging from law to engineering. The scheme targets Year 11 pupils, giving them support, guidance and mentoring to make the leap into university life.
