A university is offering the world an alternative view of Earth. Researchers from the University of Sheffield's department of geography have created an online atlas that displays images of the world based on social factors rather than land mass. In a series of more than 200 redrawn maps, the team shows everything from population hotspots to which countries are experiencing the fastest scientific growth and spending the most on education. The project is part of the Worldmapper initiative.
